News when you want it. With Bloomberg News Now, I'm Amy Morris. Four NASA astronauts are boarding a space capsule called Orion for the Artemis II mission. The lunar fly-around would be the first moon trip in 53 years and the first step in a larger plan to return astronauts to the moon. But CBS is now reporting there may be a problem with a key safety system. For now, the launch is a no-go. That doesn't mean it's been scrubbed, just that they have to troubleshoot the problem. The countdown continues. If they do get the all-clear, liftoff is set for 6.24 Eastern time tonight. Iranian President Massoud Pazeshkan sent an open letter to appeal to the American people, saying that the relationship between Iran and the U.S.
is one of the most misunderstood, and suggests the U.S. entered the war as a proxy for Israel. He says Iran harbors no enmity toward ordinary Americans. That letter came just hours before President Trump was set to address the nation on the Iran war. A White House official says Trump will provide an update on the war's progress and a two- to three-week timetable for its end. Earlier, Trump told Reuters he'll use that time to criticize NATO for its perceived lack of support in the military operation. The NATO Supreme Allied Commander, Pierre Vandier, argued that the alliance needs to quickly adapt to shocks and should overcome internal tensions together.
And I think it's a strength for the West. It's something we need never to neglect, is the fact that we are together, we are committed by bonds. And so we need to, there are always tensions. It's not the first time, but we need to solve this as a united alliance.
Admiral Pierre Vandier spoke with Bloomberg's Jonathan Farrow and Lisa Abramowitz from Norfolk, Virginia. Former Vice President Mike Pence says Iran has been a problem for 47 years, and he's glad President Trump, quote, pulled the trigger.
In taking the fight directly to Iran, the leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world. Iran has been a source of violence and mayhem, has claimed American lives, lives of our allies, and sown its malign influence across the region for 47 years.
Former Vice President Mike Pence was on balance of power. SpaceX has filed confidentially for an IPO, bringing the company closer to delivering the biggest ever listing. Anthony Hughes is following the story for Bloomberg News.
SpaceX will now be able to go out and start meeting investors and they'll be able to use information in that filing when they're talking to investors, still in a confidential way that's not really public, but the filing of the document will allow SpaceX to say lots of things to investors that they wouldn't otherwise be able to say. That's our understanding of the legal position there.
Bloomberg's Anthony Hughes on Bloomberg Intelligence. The draft IPO registration submitted to the SEC shows SpaceX could seek a valuation in the IPO of more than $1.75 trillion. Stocks rushed higher worldwide. Oil prices eased as hopes built that the war with Iran could end soon. We bring you closing numbers each day here at Bloomberg. Brent crude more than 3% lower near $100 a barrel. WTI more than 2% lower near $99 a barrel.
What challenges are NASA facing with the Artemis II mission?
The S&P gained 47 points, NASDAQ 250 points higher, the Dow gained 224 points, the 10-year Treasury yield at 4.32% and the 2-year yield at 3.8%.
