News when you want it with Bloomberg News Now. I'm Nathan Hager. Help is on the way. That is what President Trump is telling Iranian protesters in a social media post as demonstrations continue in the Islamic Republic. The Oslo-based Iran Human Rights Group says at least 648 people have been killed in more than two weeks of unrest, though the group says that toll could be as high as 6,000.
President Trump says the demonstrators should keep protesting. He says he's canceled all meetings with Iranian officials until the quote senseless killing of protesters stops. President Trump is also renewing his call for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates after the latest read on inflation. Core consumer prices rose just two tenths of one percent in December.
That was less than economists expected. More from Bloomberg's Michael McKeon.

as Fed Chair Jay Powell continues to face pressure from the Justice Department. The grand jury subpoenas issued against the chairman and the central bank are now facing global pushback, as we hear from Bloomberg's Alistair Bull.
Investors may well heed comments by other central bankers and BIS. It could affect their long-term view on U.S. assets. That's obviously important. Jens Fredrik Nielsen spoke at a joint news conference today with his Danish counterpart in Copenhagen.
Chapter 3: What is the current situation in Iran according to human rights groups?
The Danish and Greenlandic foreign ministers are set to meet tomorrow with Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The White House says it is ending temporary protected status for Somalis.
As of March 17th, Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt announced that on X, saying the move will affect thousands of people, including in Minnesota, where the Trump administration is ramping up an enforcement crackdown days after a federal agent shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis. Turning back to the markets now, we got another economic indicator this morning on new home sales.
They barely budged in October after advancing the month before. The report was delayed due to the government shutdown. Right now, the S&P 500 is moving lower by four-tenths of one percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is two-thirds of one percent lower, and the Nasdaq Composite is down four-tenths of one percent.
Meta Platforms is looking to double production of AI-powered smart glasses by the end of the year. Sources tell Bloomberg News the tech giant's talking about it with Ray-Ban's parent company. More from Bloomberg Tech host Ed Ludlow.
The Meta Ray-Bans have been even a surprise to the leadership at Meta. They never really thought that they would have the traction that they have. So the installed capacity on an annual basis that the Essilor Luxottica currently has is 10 million. And sources are telling us that Meta wants them to double that to 20 million.
