News when you want it with Bloomberg News Now. I'm Doug Krisner. The U.S. military has concluded its ninth consecutive evening of attacks on Iran. It did so at 10 p.m. Eastern Time. Central Command says targets included command centers, air defense, and coastal surveillance sites. There were also strikes on Iranian maritime capabilities, along with missile and drone launch sites, as well as communications networks. Now, these actions follow the deaths of two American service members in Jordan earlier this weekend. Another is still missing, and after a search, Central Command said unidentified remains have been found and the verification process is underway. Separately, a third service member was killed this weekend and another injured in northern Iraq today.

I think historians will look back at this and may even call this the War of Hormuz rather than the Iran War. It would seem that Iran and the U.S. want to have the final say as to who does and more importantly does not control and call the shots.
That is Dan Williams speaking on Bloomberg's This Weekend. Now, early on Sunday, Tehran targeted U.S. forces in Kuwait as well as an oil facility and a power plant. This was one of the worst waves of retaliatory attacks by Iran since the conflict began. Senator Mark Warner is critical of the conflict and the associated cost.

That was Democratic Senator Mark Warner from Virginia speaking on CBS Face the Nation. President Trump is calling on Congress to add Iran to a bipartisan Russia sanctions bill. That bill was originally authored last year by the late Senator Lindsey Graham. Now, in adding Iran, this bill would put more economic pressure on countries that buy Iranian oil and natural gas. Meantime, Gulf countries are now rerouting oil flows away from the Strait of Hormuz. Iraq is now using a fleet of trucks to carry oil through Syria. Now, that process can take up to four days to reach Syria's Mediterranean ports.
