Well, this year uh news came on the evening of December 10th as we all simultaneously got the passing bomb that your Toronto Blue Jays had acquired. Andres Jimenez from the Cleveland Guardians. It did take a while for the full transition. trade to trickle down, but this is the full trade as per Sportsnet's own Ben Nicholson Smith. So Cleveland, as you now know, sending Andres Jimenez and pitcher Nick Sandland. And the Blue Jays send back Spencer Horwitz and minor league outfielder Nick Mitchell. So that's the news of the day in Blue Jays land. We'll keep our eyes open for any more signings or trades in the next hour, but that's where we are. The the Rule Five draft did also I I guess it's actually still going on, but the Blue Jays did make a pick in the Rule Five Draft.
The Toronto Blue Jays having selected right-handed pitcher Angel Bastardo from the Boston Red Sox with the seventh. overall pick in the twenty twenty four rule five draft. The a 2020 uh twenty-two-year-old reliever, uh Venezuelan reliever appeared in seventy-eight games, seventy-four starts, four point seven six ERA with three hundred and fifty seven strikeouts, and that's across five seasons in the Red Sox organization. So Angel Bastardo, the uh most recent pick for the Blue Jays. But of course I'm not sure I'm not sure we're gonna spend a lot of time talking about bastardo.
