They feel the value in him getting back on the mound and getting some reps underneath him to start his offseason and build into next year. Yeah, and I think, you know, had the Jays gotten knocked out a couple days earlier, we probably just would have just been like, okay, this is a Raptors show today. Like, we're up on Monday anyway. But as it is, the Blue Jays got officially eliminated yesterday. Arden, writing's been on the wall for at least a couple of days here and really a couple of months as we kind of close the book on 2026 and look ahead to 2027. What's kind of front of mind for you? What are you grappling with most as far as what went wrong this year and what's got to be resolved for next year?
I think I find myself reflecting on this at the end of every baseball season, and that's just how much things change in the course of six months, eight months, 12 months. Like you think about the discussions, the conversations we were having around the Blue Jays at this time last year, and then well into a month later. from now in last year's world and then throughout spring training and the first month of the season, like just the optimism and the excitement and just the everything that was around the Blue Jays, all of the feelings and emotions It changes so quick in baseball and you can just never get too settled into what you've just seen. And you can just never believe that what we have seen and what has been will continue to be.
So just as things changed really quickly off of last year's momentous heights, things could change really quickly off of this year's really disappointing lows.
Yeah, which is, you know, a threat when things are good and an opportunity when things are bad because things can change quick. And there are, you know, I remember everyone kind of talked to Kevin Gosman shortly before the trade deadline about how it didn't feel the same as the year before. We talked to Chris Bassett when he first came back from Baltimore, and he had kind of warned us, like, you got to reset, even from the, like, culture and everyone's best friends and the vibes are so high standpoint, that resets the day the season ends and then you come back into spring training no matter what.
