Hey, Blake.
I can think of no one better suited to do this double dip show than you, my friend.
You're in the perfect spot.
I think I find myself reflecting on this at the end of every baseball season, and that's just how much things change in the course of six months, eight months, 12 months.
Like you think about the discussions, the conversations we were having around the Blue Jays at this time last year, and then well into a month later.
from now in last year's world and then throughout spring training and the first month of the season, like just the optimism and the excitement and just the everything that was around the Blue Jays, all of the feelings and emotions
It changes so quick in baseball and you can just never get too settled into what you've just seen.
And you can just never believe that what we have seen and what has been will continue to be.
So just as things changed really quickly off of last year's momentous heights, things could change really quickly off of this year's really disappointing lows.
Yeah, I think they'll be measured and disciplined as always.
I have a hard time pointing to a single decision that they've made in a reactionary or emotional way.
That just is not how they do business.
That's not how they're structured.
That's not how their processes that they work through have been designed.
So I'm sure that this off-season, and I'm sure this work has already begun, starts with a deep dive just on...
What happened?
What's the context of why it happened?
Where are we relative to our expectations coming in and our projections coming in?
And if there's a departure between what actually happened and what you expected to happen, okay, let's figure out why that is.
And let's just look at where we stand going into next year, what our opportunities are, how we project now, what kind of budget we have to work with, what's available.
