So uh it is I mean, it was supposed to be a bullpen day. Bra Brady Basso ends up pitching the most innings that he's pitched in years uh because the Blue Jays couldn't get his pitch count up, couldn't get any action on him. Uh they end the day with six. Hits, three walks, a big zero in the run column. Now, they did get help out of town. The out-of-town scoreboard went about as perfectly as the Blue Jays could have asked for. Baltimore beat Cleveland, Detroit beat Minnesota, Seattle beat Texas. Even the White Sox and Astros lost if you start looking at division leaders that could fall into the wild card mix. Um, so the Blue Jays didn't see their playoff odds dinged too much, but certainly a missed opportunity.

When you're in this kind of a playoff race and just how much the leverage swings from day to day and you know, people were s flying so high during the Kansas City series because Jay's had moved into a playoff spot and were looking great and all of a sudden, you know, you have one bad series and and the sky's falling and And that is September baseball. Uh, it's never as good as it seems until you've clinched, and it's never as bleak as it seems until you're out. So uh it's all part of the wild ride.
Yeah, well another part of this too, and I want to talk about some of the specifics from the game, but there and I I don't wanna, you know, anchor myself too much to how people are reacting on social media or in the text line on the show and things like that. But there is a An un not uncomfortable is not the right word. There's a just a weird reality here where it does not feel like the Blue Jays have played particularly great baseball for a sustained amount of time. I know they have one of the best records in the AL since the end of July. Uh, they also haven't won more than four games in a row.
