What letter grade you guys would give the blue Jays. If this was the last big move of the off season. And then look, I think we all want a little bit more, maybe another signing for a bullpen arm, maybe probably a lefty to be added to that group. I'd suggest certainly another bat like Pete Alonzo is always a possibility. And those additions I'm sure would boost your letter grade, but you tell me on the text line or via the phones, what is your letter grade for the Jays off season to date? I know Scherzer is 40, and we're talking about the fourth or fifth starter in the rotation here when we're discussing, but I'll say this, it is a fun signing. Like, I'm not sure it's going to be the reason the Jays do or do not make the playoffs, but Mad Max playing for the Blue Jays is just undeniably fun. And I mean, Barker often says this sports are supposed to be fun, right? Like there's been a definite lack of fun in the Jays last, certainly last year, maybe even the last couple of years. So for that reason, I primarily support this move with Scherzer. Todd Stottlemyre actually tweeted this out yesterday. He replied to Sportsnet's Chris Black when he was talking about the move for Scherzer.
But Todd Stottlemyre tweeted out, Scherzer is a big-time gamer and hates to lose. So I guess you can count Todd as one of the fans of this move. With all that in mind, though, right now, my lighter grade, even including Scherzer, is I would say like a B. I don't know if that's being too harsh or a greater, but a B I think seems fair, right? It can be boosted to maybe like an a minus with Alonzo. And honestly, if it's an, it's an only an a plus if Vladdy gets resigned, that's all that's left at this point though. Right? One more bat. It's like, and everything after that is pretty much gravy. I would say, right? So yeah, whether it's a lefty bullpen arm or whatever else. You know what?
