Yeah, I think it came in the first inning with Ryan Valade where he hit the three-run homer on the curveball that was down. You know, it sort of was led up by the leadoff single to the lefty. Eric Lauer wanted nothing to do with giving up the two-run homer to Caminero on the non-competitive walk. And, you know, that's sort of how you win baseball games, right?
That's why you put your best up front. Your pitcher has to come out. raring and ready to go to locate, be sharp with secondary stuff. If you don't, walks hurt you. Three-run homers kill you. Raise your hand if you felt like game was over after the first inning.

And, I mean, all John Schneider can do is kind of put guys in a position where you've got guys on base and hope that somebody comes through.
It really wasn't the case tonight.
Chapter 5: What are the implications of Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s batting performance?
The third inning, they had a little something going on. Vladdy drove in a run with a single. But other than that, Kevin, you know, you've talked about how run producers don't go grow on trees. And, you know, there's and I'm not going to blame Ernie Clement for the loss tonight. But Ernie Clement was hitting fifth. That is a run producing spot. Listen, I love Ernie Clement.
I don't mind him hitting in the second spot. I'm really comfortable with him hitting seventh or eighth. Um, and I understand why John Schneider's doing this again.
Chapter 6: What adjustments do the Blue Jays need to make moving forward?
His lineup is, is short, but, um, you know, again, they, they had runners in base. There were one for seventh runners in scoring position. They, they, they just didn't get the job done for the most part. And you're right.
The raised bullpen for the most part, the raised bullpen really didn't, didn't open the door for them other than I suppose in the ninth inning when miles straw leads off with a single, but he gets erased in a double play.
Yeah, the disappointing part out of the one for eight with runners in scoring positions. One for eight, sorry. A lot of those is the Jays got themselves out. They're too deep into the season now to be doing that consistently. And, again, you give credit to the starting pitching and the bullpen for the Rays, who have been pretty good lately.

But, I mean, really ā Again, you can't blame Ernie because of where he's hitting the lineup. You know, John's trying to stack as many good hitters in a row or at least his best hitters. And he's going to take his chances with the bottom of the lineup, turning it over to some guy at the top of the lineup who might run into one.
But if you look at Ernie's at-bats those couple of times in the first inning and the third inning, he didn't swing or strike. Look, I understand who Ernie is, and he likes to swing you at everything. But when you're hitting in the five hole with a bunch of traffic on the bases, every once in a while you've got to go outside the box and do something different.
Zone in, get you one, let them throw it down the middle, put your A swing on it. So... Yeah, I mean, it's just this is kind of where they're at right now, right?
Chapter 8: How can the Blue Jays improve their offensive strategy against tough pitchers?
It's just, you know, when one part of their game lets them down, the other part's not picking them up defensively. You know, Ernie was throwing it around. Ernie kicked it around. Like, it's just for whatever reason, they just can't put a clean, complete game together consistently enough to go out there and compete, which would allow them to win a baseball game.
And when you don't do that, Jeff, what are they, four games under .500?
i mean that's stiff or two three games under whatever they are 16 and 19 your race my race i should say you're 10 over feels like they're 10 games under 500 so yeah that's a little bit of an exaggeration 10 feels no it's not the guy under 500 come on come on you're better than that three games under is not 10 games then well that's your thoughts you know what's the same game you watch in the game that i'm watching it seems like it was over in the first inning was it
Again, I said I thought the chances of the Jays winning were complicated by that three-run first inning.
The reality is they got what they got. Some dudes are coming back hopefully soon in Barger. Right.
We saw George Springer getting ready to pinch hit tonight, too. So hopefully Barger's back within a couple of days.
I mean, I don't know what you can expect from George. George got a broken toe. Again, we'll have to let that play out to see how that's going to look going forward. Getting Barger back would just sort of drop everybody down that should be dropped down, which would allow, you know, sort of John to mix and match middle of the lineup.
Hopefully you get the right guy up at the right time who can start having some quality big league at-bats. And... This is kind of where they're at, right, where they take a step forward, they take two steps back. They take a step forward, they take two steps back. You don't get a good start. You fall behind. Sort of the bubbles let out of the balloon or the air. Yeah, something like that.
