Today’s guest has over 15 years of experience cultivating ecosystems in each of these two industries- working at the intersection of culture and innovation. Jessica Colaço is a bass guitarist and tech entrepreneur. She co-founded iHub Kenya in 2010, an innovation and tech hub with the goal of nurturing an ecosystem for Nairobi’s underserved tech and entrepreneurial community.  After an illustrious career life as a Director in iHub, startup advisor and playing in a couple of rock bands around the world, she decided to work on her own Extended Playlist, enlisting a host of amazing musicians and singers to help her put it together. She is currently the first female in tech and music to release a single (Momentum) on NFT in Kenya. In this episode, we talk about her early career life in Nairobi, the challenges she experienced stepping into the job market in a country with little tech penetration and unpack the hurdles of cultivating spaces that facilitate exponential growth for gifted individuals. Jessica also gives us her take on the current state of the music industry in Kenya, what making music means to her and how to excel as a jack of all trades.
