EP #48: Narrative Ecosystems; The Mission Of Telling Africa's Stories w/ Moky Makura- Executive Director, Africa No Filter

20 Dec 2022

Description

Africa’s narrative has been historically viewed from various unfavorable lenses, informed by stereotypical views and opinions across the continent. In today’s episode, we are joined by Moky Makura, the Executive Director of Africa No Filter- an organization whose mission is to connect and build the field of narrative change-makers on the continent. Moky believes that the only way to change people’s perceptions is through storytelling. She speaks about her early exposure to different cultures and the understanding this gave her of her identity as a pan-African and global citizen- and emphasizes the need for cultivating ecosystems that support young creatives in driving positive narratives about our African continent.
