On this week’s episode I am super excited to be introducing you to this week’s guest all the way from Massachusetts in U.S , Psychotherapist & Gestalt therapist CindyBlank- Edelman. Cindy has been a licenced mental health professional working for over 20 years after she obtained her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling from Lesley College in 1999. Since then, Cindy has completed 5 years of postgraduate training in Gestalt Therapy at the Gestalt Institute of New England. From the early 2000s, Cindy has worked as a counsellor in a women’s domestic violence program, and has nearly 10 years’ experience at Fenway Health, a community health centre in Boston that supports the LBTQIA + community. Cindy is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community herself and has a strong commitment to supporting the issues facing people who are queer, transgender or non- binary. Cindy now works in her own private practice where she has been working for over 10 years with clients. Having a particular interest in social justice, sex positivity, body image, eating disorders, trauma and feminism. Cindy uses a Health at Every Size Approach with clients and identifies as being in a lager body. Cindy is also neurodiversity- affirming and aims to help clients challenge internalised beliefs that make people feel disempowered. On this week’s episode Cindy will be talking about negative body image, body acceptance and self-acceptance as a way to approach difficulties people face with their bodies.
