Books and the City

Is Anyone Still There?

11 May 2020

Description

Books and the City is coming to you live from quarantine! We “got together” virtually to record this episode for the first time in a month and a half, and it was a glorious reunion. Keep listening if you’d like to find out a little bit more about what we’ve been up to, where we’re all self-isolating, and how we’re staying sane (or, in Becky’s case, losing our marbles slowly by way of adorable conversations with Ginny, the Cat). And after we get all caught up with each other, stay tuned to hear about some stellar reads (5-stars from all of us for all our respective books! That literally never happens!) We’ve got a bit of fantasy, a bit of history, some culty stuff, & oddly comforting dystopia. Read on for links, and make sure you check out our Bookshop.org/shop/booksandthecity link to shop the books we’ve discussed on the podcast! We feel weird recommending bar pairings during quarantine when you can’t go visit, but we’ll bring them back post-quar AND we will be announcing a way to help those in the service industry who have been affected by COVID soon so stay tuned! If you have a perfect bar + book pairing in your city, OR any thoughts about the books we talked about in episode 8, send us a note at [email protected]!------------- Libby just read: Severance by Ling Ma (20:56-32:19) https://us.macmillan.com/books/9781250214997 Up next for Libby: The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily M.
