It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN. All right, coming to you live from whatever the studio is, Eddie. There you go, Built for a Tough Studio. Happy Thursday morning. This is the Boomer and Geo program. Just tuning in a little confused. No Gio, no Boomer, no Al, no Jerry for the moment. Willie Colon has decided to join me here in the studio. I was all by my lonesome there for a second. At least as CBS Sports Network comes on the air, we're both sitting in our seats because I think if people woke up and were just waking up and they're turning on their TV going into their usual morning routine and they saw just me sitting here like a schmuck, they would think they're in some sort of dream or nightmare, Willie.
I don't know what the hell's going on.
Anyway, we're efforting.
The great Jerry Rucko out in Chicago after Rucker's duty last night. They did beat Minnesota. Of course they did. Big Ten tournament. So now he's got to stick around for tonight's game against UCLA. But we're off and running here and we will make do the best we can. This is kind of like how the United States approached the Italy. That's right. Flying by the seat of our pants, baby. But you know what? It's no problem for Boomer and Geo, as they're on separate golf trips, so they're, I'm sure, fast asleep right now. Not a care in the world, but we're here. Eddie's here. Rami Levy's here. Good morning, Willie Colon. How are you today, my friend?
I got double C-Lows. I'm looking at C-Low right now on the screen.
That's right. Look at that. He's got me on S&Y, talking a little baseball last night.
You look good, C-Low. You've lost weight?
No, I've probably put on weight, if anything. But you know what they say about the black suit, Willie? It's very slimming. So that was a strategic choice by me last night, because I'm just back from a couple days vacation with the family. Where did we go? We went to Woodlock Pines Resort out in Hawley, Pennsylvania. It's a Pocono area, but technically, I don't know if it's technically the Poconos. It's kind of its own thing.
Kept it light on the pockets, huh?
Well, I didn't have anything on the pockets. It was a treat of my in-laws. So we were free-rolling, baby. We were along for the ride. So it was fun, but we ate quite a bit. So, yeah, you know, put the black suit on, figure a couple pounds heavier, kind of hide that a little bit.
Yeah, if you're dieting or on vacation, man, that's not the way to do it.
No, I'm not dieting, but you're going beyond your normal routine.
Well, there's people who go on vacation. I always get enamored when I'm somewhere and I see people, like, Monitor what they eat and drink. Count the calories. Work out. I'm just like, dude, it's vacation.
Right. Do that when you get home. It's not a vacation then if you're doing that. I mean, I know people have their routines and they're setting their ways. So they want to stick to their exercise program or routine. That's one thing. But you've got to enjoy the food and drink.
Whatever's out there, wherever town you're in, if there's a food challenge, partake in that.
Get after it. That's what you've got to do.
Do whatever you got to do, man.
You get after it on vacation.
I really try not to. I know. I was just messing with you. Yeah. No, I have fun, man. I don't try to get too crazy. I don't drink anymore. So that, you know, my getting after it was me being tanked on vacation and my wife being absolutely mad at me the next morning.
Yeah, you don't need that.
That's not good for anything. So you're going to be hung over in front of the kids? This is the type of father you want to be? What is this?
Plus, then more responsibility falls on her plate because you're not fun. functioning at your highest level.
Oh, my wife is merciless. She didn't give a damn. You're back on the job. There was no, like, whatever. You can be drunk.
You're on the job, but, like, things are slipping through the cracks. Like, you're not your best version.
My point to it is, like, even if I was, you know, wearing a hangover, she still expected me to show up and play ball.
