So it's funny that his name is back. and trades in the NBA. Will it happen or not? Not a lot of action yesterday on the Giannis front, so we'll be paying attention to that throughout the morning and the weekend. Another win by the Islanders. I heard Al talking about, you know, the whole Bill Belichick saga and all that other crap. You know, really, like I was trying to say yesterday, with this whole thing, of course Bill Belichick should be in the Hall of Fame on the first ballot. Of course. And you have to be an idiot not to think that way. No matter what you think about Spygate or Deflategate, which was Tom Brady, by the way, it wasn't Bill Belichick. Remember, he removed himself from that argument. Yeah, he did. So, I... What people don't understand is since the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and I tried to explain yesterday, changed their rule in 2025 and made the voting the way this was.
I always thought, and this is what it always was, is that a coach would have to retire from the NFL and wait five years like a player would. So in other words, let's take Phillip Rivers, for instance. His clock now starts over. He gets the benefits from the NFL because he played three games, which is great. Nice. For his nine kids or ten kids. But he also now has to wait another five years before his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. So they changed the rules and they basically said that a coach could be out of the NFL for a year and then he could be eligible for the Hall of Fame. Is Bill Belichick retired from the NFL? I don't believe so. I mean, is he retired from coaching? No, because he's coaching.
Yeah, right. Exactly. Like, I don't even know why he's on the ballot in the first place. I'm like, that's the thing to me. And I'm like, OK, I would want him to be first, you know, on the first ballot. Nobody deserves to be there more than he does. But the way that they change the rules, the fact that they allow the coach and by the way, a guy like Mike Shanahan. You think he should be in the Hall of Fame? Sure. Why isn't he in the Hall of Fame?
