It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN. Hey, don't turn around. They're commissars in town. It's Boomer and Geo. Coming to you live from the Build Forward Tough studio. On the fan and CBS Sports Network. If you want to call the show, Red Pocket Mobile fan line brought to you by your new ultimate cell carrier, Red Pocket Mobile. It's 888-808-1019. Saw our buddy Evan Roberts in the break, and he goes, I can't believe how hot of a ticket the Celtics-Knicks game is tonight. Wow. He goes, wouldn't you save your money for the playoffs? And I said, you know, I would personally if I were someone that was looking to either go to this game or the playoffs. But I said, there's a lot of people out there having a lot of money.
And there's a bunch of people who are off this week. It's the Celtics. Tatum going back there. It's a Thursday night, which is later in the week. People like a Thursday night. Thursday night is usually a little Friday. It's a little Friday, but it's also the night that you take people out and you entertain. So I said, I'm not surprised. I mean, we had an invitation to Rao's tonight. Did we? Yeah. I said no. Okay.
What makes the Celtics-Knicks game a hot ticket?
You didn't run it by me? No, I had to go to Montreal. Okay, but you could have just at least been like, hey. Well, they wanted me to bring a friend. They didn't say, Gio, and you can each bring a friend. All right, all right. Now I get it. Okay. Again, with the expectation you have of now everything being run by you, I love it. I love it. I do love it. But there are certain things that still are going to get thrown to me first. Yeah, absolutely. No, I have a friend who invited us to rail. Oh, that's nice. Well, tell him thank you. I did. Have I met this friend? I don't think you have. Oh, okay. You know, I've never been there. Really? Well, I'm going to get you there, I promise. All right, very good. We have another friend.
Vinny the tailor. Yeah, he's a Raos guy. Yeah, we got a bunch of guys down, you know, due process. Yeah. Did you see the thing that I sent you yesterday? I did. I appreciated it.
Yes.
Fat Perez flying over due process. In a helicopter and landing. You've done that? You've done that. I have not done that. Oh, you haven't done that. Yeah, I have not done that. But that was cool. That's right. I did that with Craig once, you know. Yeah. I was going to push him out of the helicopter. Ha! Yeah, there's nothing like, I'm sure there's nothing like landing there in a helicopter, getting out and playing around. That's got to be something special. All right, you want to get some calls in here, some Yankee fans that want to talk some baseball with us? Let's go to Pete in Queens. What's going on, Pete? Hey, how you doing, guys?
What's up, Pete? I'm a long-time Yankee fan, and I cannot see how anybody has confidence in this team. I mean, Pete...
Pete's very upset. He's very upset. Pete might be the Yankees' Paul and Yonkers. How can you be excited about the team? Okay, well, yes, 6-7-8-9 has been tough right now. But despite their current record, I mean, that does matter when you're winning games. And it goes outside of the pitching staff. which is one of the most important things in the game, and they may end up, if you get Rodon and Cole back as one of the better staffs in baseball. Yeah. Other than that, there's nothing to get excited about. You can't say that. That's like, you know, it's the classic, other than the, you know, how was the rest of the play, Mrs. Lincoln thing, you know? Yes, exactly. But now you got Grisham batting under 200.
You got Chisholm batting under 200. You got nothing from McMahon. He's batting under 100. So I understand why he would be frustrated. Look, just bat 250. And you'd be surprised just how much the team would improve. They're 8-3. I mean, I think that, right, despite all of that. So, I mean, that's really an answer right there. They haven't hit what their capabilities are, and they're still 8-3. So, I think Grisham's absolutely going to be better. I think Jazz is going to absolutely be better. I don't think that Ryan McMahon is capable of being much better offensively, but those guys will wake up.
