Chapter 1: What are the latest updates on NFL trades and player movements?
It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN. Boomer and Geo coming to you live from the Bill Ford Tough Studio on the Fan and CBS Sports Network. Get some calls in this segment at 888-808-1019. It's the Red Pocket Mobile fan line brought to you by your new ultimate cell carrier, Red Pocket Mobile. I have not seen any action today with Adam Schefter. And his account. There's been nothing.
He's just posted a video about him talking about what happened yesterday. An update on Trey Hendrickson and the Raiders moves he wrote an article about. So no juice yet. on the second day of this tampering period. And we'll see, I'm sure. I mean, it's early. It's early for these guys. They were up all last night. They're getting their shut-eye. They're hammering out contracts.
But if anything happens, you keep it locked here to WFA. And you get instant reaction all day long. I'm trying to figure out how many players... agreed to contracts with the NFL yesterday. I'm trying to, let's see. I just saw in that Schefter article an insane number just to the Raiders. Eight players on contracts valued at $283.75 million. I mean, there's different ways to build a team.
Yeah, there is. Now, they're saying that it's about 100 players maybe. There's 20 to 40 prominent agreements there. And then the full number, lesser-known players, probably somewhere between 50 and 100 had agreed to contracts, haven't signed yet. They won't sign until tomorrow. Tomorrow, the new league year starts. That's right. Wednesday, March 11th, the new league year.
And that's when you may see Kirk Cousins officially. Maybe, I don't know, did they put a June 1st designation on him? I'm sure they do. I don't know when they do. But that's the one we're keeping an eye on more than the others because that right now, as everything stands, is the best fit out of all the options that are out there for the Jets at the quarterback position.
Did any of this surprise you yesterday? Any players surprise you? Prior to free agency, Max Crosby going to the Ravens did surprise me. So trade. Make it Fitzpatrick coming to the Jets. I mean, yeah, that was a little surprising. Only close to the Dolphins was not surprising. Nope. You know what? Kenneth Walker to the Chiefs.
I did not see him signing that contract on day one of free agency and going to the Chiefs. So maybe that takes them out of the Jeremiah Love sweepstakes in the draft. Certainly does. Without a doubt. Yeah. So that is an interesting one.
That was really surprising.
Really surprising, that one. Oh, wow. We knew Mike Evans was probably going to go elsewhere, so that one wasn't all that surprising. Tremaine Edmonds I was screaming about for the Giants, so that worked out. How about the Jalen Phillips deal with Carolina? That was really surprising. Yeah, I think that was Carolina jumping in. Maybe you could say they overpaid for him to get him there.

Chapter 2: How do fans feel about the Jets and Giants' recent decisions?
And it's possible. Can we get a wide receiver, you know, in the second round that could be like a one beat to Malik's neighbors?
Yeah, there's plenty of receivers in this draft. There's no question about that. Cornell Tate was initially thought to be maybe the apple of the eyes of the Giants. But, again, you know, you got John Harbaugh. You got to think defense first. You got to think offensive line. You got to think, you know, he likes big teams.
Like, it's funny, when Phil Simms and I used to talk about the Ravens, he used to say when they got off the bus, that was a big team. It was the biggest team in football. And they were also considered one of the most physical teams in football. That was his kind of reputation that's always been the reputations of the Ravens. So that's what he's trying to bring to the Giants.
But he also, by signing Isaiah Likely, they brought in another –
target for jackson dart that is a big play type of tight end and has been for the ravens so i wonder now with the fifth overall pick what are you thinking are you thinking a safety uh is it caleb downs is it going to be uh one of the styles brothers is it going to be one of the it's not going to be an edge rusher you know i don't think it's going to be an offensive lineman
I mean, I would get greedy, quite frankly, and go and draft Cornell Tate. That's what I would do. I would get greedy and do that. Because we're talking about an offense. You want to talk about young guys. So now you got neighbors, you got Tate, you got Scataboo, Tracy, Isaiah Likely, and Jackson Dart. You bring Illuminor back, which is a huge signing.
You got an offensive line that's got some real talent on that. I'm going to work with that. And you just spent money on defense.
You did.
You did. Yeah, I mean... It would be amazing to add another... They see the Eagles, what the Eagles did with their two wide receivers. And you're thinking that, obviously, you have to take into account what you're playing against in your own division.

Chapter 3: What praise did Isaiah Likely give to John Harbaugh?
Like, he used to say tastefully nude. Yeah, I mean... What does that mean? I mean, you could be in an article in Playgirl and, like, maybe do, like, you know, a shirt off or, like, you know, throw your shirt over your shoulder type of thing. But, I mean, showing... He was trying to get us on the cover. Yeah, but did they put penis on the cover of that? No, it wasn't going to be that.
I told you it was going to be tasteful. But tasteful nudes, you're saying. Well, I mean, partially. Partially nudes. So just like half of your ball sack or something? No. One ball? Huge penis. No. You brought it up. I know, but I'm just saying it. When I say tasteful, I think it was more like a cheek shot. Oh, you want to put your ass out there. No, I didn't want to do it.
Oh, it sounded like you did. No, I didn't. I had to fight him for literally, that was a month. Well, he needed you because they weren't going to go, you know, just him. Yeah, no kidding. He needed you in there. Yeah. Well, that's too bad. I think it's an opportunity missed, quite frankly. Let's go to Joe in Princeton, New Jersey. What's going on, Joe? Yeah, how you doing, guys? Good morning.
Good morning.
I was listening last week, and I think the influencers that Boomer was referencing, that's the Badlands Sports Network for the Jets team, Those guys are great. And I can tell you guys don't listen to them because there is no way Kirk Cousins is going to be the quarterback for the Jets next year.
He does not want to be here. The Jets do not want him here after they spurned him a few years ago. It's going to be Geno and Carson Wentz. You can lock it up. Lock it up, Geno and Carson Wentz. Okay, well, you know, I mean, both of those guys fit the bill. They fit the bill. Yeah, again, this is what you're picking from. Yeah, but Kirk Cousins sounds a lot better than Geno and Carson Wentz.
It just does. I know it does, but I'm just saying. By the way, Kirk spurning the Jets years ago has nothing to do with any of this. No. If, in fact, that ends up being accurate. But those guys fit what we've been talking about. You know, cheap, older guys that have had some success, and Frank knows one of them. But again, they've probably been discussed. Everybody's been discussed.
What, is Gino officially released? I don't think so. Not yet. He's not? So that could fit your criteria if they're waiting. Yeah. I'm going to read into your coded language. Figure out what the hell you're talking about. Again, I thought about this last night. I was just thinking, you know, it's the Ryan Fitzpatrick model. Okay.
Older guy who's still cool?

Chapter 4: What happened in the Knicks' recent game against the Clippers?
Wow.
I mean, that is some major praise there. We're talking about one of the best linebackers to ever put on a uniform. Well, Sonny Stiles, what, is 6'5", 245 pounds? Okay. I mean, he's a little bit taller than Ray was. Certainly. Yes. You know, but... I mean, just what they did at the combine alone, the speed, the verticality, the broad jump, the quicks. Short space quicks. Yes.
That's exactly what I'm talking about. Yeah. I mean, you're telling me that's the next Ray Lewis. I'm in. Well, I'm not saying that he's the next Ray Lewis. I'm just saying, could you see John Harbaugh saying, you know what? Let's bring in this guy because this guy can be on the second level with Tremaine Edmonds. That'd be, hey, I'm fine with that as well because the linebacker position.
In a long history of great linebackers, you know, throughout Giants history, it's been lacking there for a number of years. What do I always tell you about professional sports? It's about the young men that can run, that can skate. It's all about speed. You know what I'm saying? And avoiding state income tax. Well, that too. That's a big part of it. But in this case, we don't want that to happen.
What we want is we want the giant defense to get faster and meaner. Tony in Connecticut. What's going on, Tony? Hello. What's up, Tony? What's happening? How are you, boys? I want to start a petition. I want to get two things. First is I want to get Mike White back. Let's get Mike White back to the Jets. Let's give him the team he deserves. And also the new Revive Openback.
Revive OB from Kane Footwear is out now. Hands-free, smooth transitions. But you're really going to want the all-day long. What the hell is he talking about? He's doing a live read before our 15 live reads. Yes. We got Mike White. That's right. Let's party. I love Mike White. I loved him. You made yourself some Mike White, man. You thought he was... I did. RQB Mike White's on fire.
RQB Mike White's on fire.
You thought Mike White was going to set this league on fire.
I thought Mike White was the bee's knees. I did. He was the answer to everything that you wanted for the Jets. He was great there for a while. I mean, he was awesome. Yeah, for about a day and a half. Couldn't stay healthy. That's the problem, man. You don't understand how hard it is to play the position to actually have somebody that's going to be upright for 17 weeks.

Chapter 5: How did Aaron Judge perform in Team USA's WBC win over Mexico?
I can't. with 11 maniacs coming at you. It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN. Hi, Boomer and Geo on the fan and CBS Sports Network. Jerry Recco is back. He's got another update and moment of the day for us. What's up, Jerry? Good morning, brought to you by Chef IQ, precision cooking, effortless results. ChefIQ.com. Just one piece of sound from the NFL. Played it a few hours ago.
Why not one more time for Giant fans? Because if you're fired up for John Harbaugh, you should be. Here's their newest tight end, Isaiah Likely, who will be coming over from Baltimore. This is a few weeks back when he was on Kay Adams' show talking about Harbaugh. Like, he's it.
He's the culture of peace that you need. Like, he's instilling the discipline. to understand that adversity happens. What are you going to do when it happens, though? And he's going to bring the mantra of, like, we're going to win every game. and we're never going to go into that game thinking less.
And now likely will continue to be a part of the Harbaugh experience as he comes up from Baltimore to New York. Should be fun. They also signed the punter Jordan Stout, and you guys talked about that in his contract that he got from the Giants.
Meantime, as all of this starts to settle down a little bit, we get back into basketball because yesterday was quite the frenzy with all the player movement. The Knicks were in L.A. to play the Lakers on Sunday. Came up short last night in L.A. to take on the Clippers. Mark dribbles down the lane. Kicks it out. Shannon. Up top. Brunson. Brunson to drive. Leans in. Shot blocked. Jones once again.
A fabulous defensive play. Here's Matherin. Fouled by Shannon. Counted and won. Counted and won. Mike Breen on MSG. Knicks wind up falling 126-118. Kawhi Leonard a big game. 29.7 rebounds and 8 assists. Darius Garland had 23. Here was Mike Brown describing what in hell happened.
Biggest difference in the basketball game It was our turnovers. That fueled their break. But again, we had 18 or 19 turnovers last night. We had 20 tonight.
And that's way too many in a two-game span. We mentioned Kawhi Leonard having 29. Played this earlier. He is a man of few words. The Clippers back to .500 after starting 6-21. Your thoughts? It's cool. No, the job ain't done. The season's not over. I mean, it's what's expected. And that's exactly what Garland said as well.
One other interesting or cool sight from this game, MSG recorded pregame, a conversation on the bench between Patrick Ewing and Jeff Van Gundy. If you're a fan of the Knicks from the 90s, this is a heartwarming shot.

Chapter 6: What did David Stearns say about the Mets' defensive strategies?
Judge on Fox with Ken Rosenthal after the game. What a great night.
It's playoff baseball in March. That's what it's all about. It's a little March madness here. I love it. The fans came with it today. This was a fun atmosphere, exciting atmosphere. The boys were ready to go. You got Paul Skeens on the mound who was doing his thing. When Mexico started getting going there, this place got pretty rowdy, but the boys stayed locked in and delivered a win.
He mentioned Skeens. He went four innings, did give up one hit, but struck out seven, said happy to be a part of it.
It was awesome. Great atmosphere. Nice to feel like I'm doing something rather than just taking up a hotel room and eating all the free meals. So good to go out there and do my job.
And so the U.S. 3-0. They will take on Italy, which is also unbeaten. I'm not sure if they're 2-0 or 3-0, but Italy also is not lost. And you'll get last night's Skeens. Tonight you get Nolan McClain. That will make the start for Team USA after 9 p.m. The Dominican Republic beat Israel 10-1. They are 3-0. Puerto Rico and Venezuela both 3-0 as well. And Port St. Lucie, David Stearns.
I met the media for quite a while yesterday. Interesting, too, because I know Evan was trying to have him on the show, and he said no, but then did a thing with the media the next day. Yeah, I guess he just doesn't do the radio shows, but he doesn't mind the press conferences. He just doesn't like Evan, is what it sounds like. They apparently had a very nice conversation, though.
So I don't know. Here was Stern's early thoughts of guys like Polanco and Bichette changing positions.
I think this is going pretty much as expected.
They've both worked extremely hard at those positions. There are nuances that they're learning. They're going to continue to learn, and it's not going to be perfect. But so far, so good. He was also asked, so we know about the surgery that Francisco Lindor had. It seemed like it was kind of aggressive to think that he would be able to start and play opening day. Any update on that?

Chapter 7: What was the Moment of the Day involving Chris Russo?
What's in the past is in the past. You know, Geo nixed the softball team. I haven't said those things in a while. Okay. All right, one more time. The Hofstra call last night as they beat Towson to get into the CAA final against Monmouth.
Ten seconds to play. Edmeade, five on the clock. Rotates onto the right wing, three to shoot. Edmeade, crossover, steps into a three. Takes it in! Takes it in! And the Pride take the lead with .3 to go!
Onions! Yep, the Onions. There you go. WRHU with the call. So they will play Monmouth in the championship game, and that will be on CBS Sports Network coming up tonight at 7 p.m., the winner advancing into the NCAA tournament. All right, moment of the day. You, Gio, not happy with the NBA's decision to cancel the Magic City Night in Atlanta.
Seemed a little bit hypocritical, and I certainly agree with this first part here. If the NBA could have made hundreds of millions of dollars in some sort of you know, strip club night across the league, they probably would have done it. But this is one thing that's benefiting one organization. And Adam Silver, like he did with Donald Sterling, can come in with a cape on and be like, look at me.
I got this guy. I stopped this thing. Like, okay, yeah, you're great, Adam. But you still got your players fixing games and coaches fixing games and half your league's tanking and losing games on purpose. Yeah, it's amazing that this – that this has gotten to this level of intensity. Much hubba-doo and much, to me, made about nothing. I think there's a lot of hubba-doo here.
I mean, the boobies and the buttocks. Very large buttocks on these women. So I don't understand all this hula ball about the boobies. Do you see these ladies with their buttocks and their boobies? Tattoos, whole deal. Not for me, personally. You know, I'm more of someone, you know, no tattoos. Maybe a smaller ass. But these women here, very large.
And they know how to clap their cheeks together and make a sound. Crazy. 4 in front of 8, Sports Radio 66. There you go. Moment of the day. Where's Cox? Enjoy, guys. Thank you, Jerry. We will see you soon. Former Jaguars cornerback Greg Newsom II has reached an agreement today on a one-year deal worth up to $10 million with the New York Giants, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus.
So a one-year deal, corner Greg Newsom II to the Giants. Just a minute ago from Adam Schefter. It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN. Hi, Boomer and Geo on the fan and CBS Sports Network. Another spring-like day out there. And you've got to love that, even though Jerry has now rescinded. His winter is over. And he's now driving to the airport.
You know, there's all these TSA stuff that's going on. And Jerry's got to get out there to Chicago for the Big Ten tournament. And he didn't know about it. You know, because Jerry's not a big news guy. Jerry doesn't pay attention to the news, what's going on. He's like, I don't know, dude. Who's that? What? Huh? Pete Hegseth? Huh? You know, he's like, I don't know. Dude, I don't know.

Chapter 8: What challenges did Jerry face with TSA delays during the government shutdown?
No, you wouldn't. I said... Take your iPad out, you dummy. How many times do I got to say it? That's why you got to like the very assertive TSA agent that is basically saying these things as people are getting to their bins. You stupid a-hole. How long have you been flying? Take your iPad out of your backpack. I mean, you traveled with your two kids last week. I did, yeah.
Yeah, I mean, and you got through everything was fine? Oh, of course. I gave him the rundown. This is what you do, this is what you don't do, this is what you do. Yeah. I went with a guy last year on the golf trip who was in front of me, this guy from Sayville, and he was standing in the line. You know the thing, you stand in the thing and you go, foom, foom, you put your hands over your head.
Yeah, put your hands up over your head. The X-ray thing. So he was standing outside of the thing, like in the line with his hands over his head. And the team...
the tsa it's like what are you what are you doing he goes i'm practicing oh yeah that's pretty funny actually i supposed to be as opposed to being a dope and doing it he's actually doing it on purpose oh my god i love it and then you know the other thing like you'll get like a
People who show up to the airport too late and then they'll grab a TSA agent and then they try to get them through security because their plane's leaving. And then you see like 15 members of a family. There's a wheelchair. They got the grandma going. There's 10 kids. There's bags all over the place. And I'm like, will you get to the airport earlier? Get there earlier.
You don't have to take your shoes off anymore, which is a good thing. Yeah. But, yeah, I don't know. I just hope it's not a problem for Jerry, for you, or for me. But I'm sure we'll find out tomorrow. Yes, we will. What do you got, JFK? Yeah. Yes. Okay. I got JFK. Under construction. Got a manhole cover blown off over here in Varick Street. Knock it out.
I mean, you know, you got the Holland Tunnel all backed up because of it. I'm knocking on wood here that things are going to be all right because things have been fine. Last couple times I've flown, it's been fine. Everything's been good. And the TSA pre-check is even effed, right, with this whole thing? Yeah, of course. TSA. TSA.
Last year I was rushing to get to the airport to go on the golf trip, and I got pulled over in the Uber. My Uber got pulled over. That sucks. For an improper turn. You know, there's nothing worse than trying to get out of lower Manhattan through Soho to one of these bridges. And all of a sudden, there's a box truck that's double parked in one of these tight little roads.
And then the three lanes turn into the two lanes. And then the two lanes turn into one lane. And then there's a guy trying to make a left-hand turn when everybody's behind him and he's stuck at the light. I mean, yeah. It's just driving in New York that raises the level of stress. Then you hit one of these potholes. It's like a portal to hell.
