Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN. Hi, Boomer and Geo coming to you live from the Build Forward Tough studio on the Fan and CBS Sports Network. Number to join the show, 888-808-1019. That's the Red Pocket Mobile fan line as brought to you by your new Ultimate Cell Carrier Red Pocket Mobile.
You know what was amazing last night is you had both professional basketball teams in action, all three professional hockey teams in action, and both baseball teams in action. It's April, baby. Yeah, it was Friday night last night. Yeah, and Aaron Glenn was making some jet news as well, right? And I think that probably topped everything when he said that, what he said about Geno Smith.
Going to the promised land with Geno Smith. Let's go to Matt, who's down in Houston. What's going on, Matt? Hey, guys. How are you? Love your work. New York sports fan trapped down here in Houston, Texas for 18 years. Psychotic Knicks fan.
Went to a game last night with my wife, and... I am so in agreement with you guys. I've been giving Cat a chance all year.
Chapter 2: What happened in the Knicks' loss against Houston?
He is a defensive liability. He can't shoot the three. Alper and Sangoon made him look like he was on ice skates last night, and that is why they got drilled.
I know he had 22 points, and the stat sheet doesn't show it, but he is going to get roasted. by any athlete that he plays against the rest of these playoffs. I want him out of here. I'm done with them. I don't think this team is going anywhere, and it pains me to say that after watching this team. I'm 43 years old, so I'm well aware of the 90s Knicks. That was my prime time in New Jersey.
and I'm just beside myself of what I saw. You know what's amazing, Matt? Thanks for hanging out and listening to what you guys said. What's amazing, Matt, is that a couple years ago, this team was extremely, extremely likable. Remember, there was a little engine that could, and they busted their ass. They get to the playoffs. Everybody loves Jalen Brunson.
And then they go out and they try to enhance the team, and they think that they got the right traits. It started with the Ananobi. Actually, the Josh Hart and then the Ananobi. And then they're going to move on from DiVincenzo, and they're going to move on from Julius Randle.
and they're going to bring in Cat, and then they're going to bring in Bridges along with them, and this is going to be the team that's going to be able to lead them to a championship. And now I think, and I heard this in Matt's voice, and I've heard it in a lot of Knicks fans' voices, that this is not the likable team that it once was.
Well, see, I think that the personalities are still as likable, but back then what wasn't on them was these lofty expectations. When they first started winning, it was like, this is great. We haven't seen this before. This is awesome. First time in a playoff since his. First time in the conference championship since that.
And then all of a sudden, we got the lofty expectations on you, and you have to go to the NBA Finals, and all of a sudden, the roommate's podcast isn't as cute anymore.

Chapter 3: How do microplastics affect our health?
What I often say about expectations. Well, it's my line. Expectations are the thief of joy. Right. Well, you've said it and I've said it. No, that's my line. It's your line directly. Do not take that line from me. Okay. That is my line. All right. Expectations are the thief of joy. And in this case, I could say that that would be the case. Yep. You know, it's been okay regular season.
It's not been a bad regular season. But how many games have you really enjoyed? We haven't, because even that seven-game winning streak, everybody was just, you know, we highlighted it here. These were teams that they were supposed to beat. Yeah. Jerry said it before any of us said it, that when they go down to Charlotte, this is not the same Charlotte team that they saw earlier in the season.
Let's go to Lori in Ocean Township. What's going on, Lori?
Good morning. Hi. Not to keep this conversation going, but I am potty training my son. But I'm teaching him to sit. So do you boys just figure out to stand, or am I meant to be telling him to stand?
See, I'm a father of two girls. I would imagine that you have to teach him to stand at some point, but I don't know what the protocol is with the boys when they're – what did you do with Gunner early on? Yeah, well, we made him hit a target. Oh, really? Okay. We had to stand up and hit a target in the toilet. Okay. And I think that that's what Cassie's doing now. All right.
I'm thinking that Bear and Henninger are going to end up doing the same thing. They're just not there yet. Okay, but you're not going to teach them to sit? No. Okay. All right. So there you go. I have nothing against people sitting. I don't really care. But I'm just saying I'm not teaching them to do that. What has Sidney taught Matthew Schaefer to do? Does he have a target as well in the toilet?
That's a good question.

Chapter 4: What updates did Jerry provide about the Yankees and other local sports?
That is a really good question. Paul and Yonkers, by the way, was on hold and then he dropped. I was just about to get to him. He was next up. What the hell is going on? He was ready to go off about DeGrom and Alonzo and everything else. He dropped. We're having a little battle today, Paul and I. He was calling again immediately right off the bat. So I did pick him up.
And he said, are you guys mad at me? I go, no. He goes, I haven't been on in five days. I go, you were on two days ago. Legitimately two days ago. Because yesterday I didn't pick him up and someone complained to you. Right. So I said, just pick your spots. Then I hang up an hour later calling again. So I was like, okay, maybe Gio can explain to him on the air what's going on.
So I did put him on hold, but he hung up. He'll be back. Probably. He probably hung up. He's like, oh, we're talking about more potty training. I want to talk about a lot. He's just becoming like a one-trick pony, and you can't kind of do that every day. Sure. Of course. So he's 162 games. I totally understand. You do not want to burn out too bright and just all of a sudden go away.
And he's great, and it's fun, but it can't be every day. He's got to understand that. But this is what happens, though, when you get a caller like this, becomes a star, and all of a sudden it always goes too far. Right. Always goes one step too far. And now he's sitting there and he's upset and everything else. I mean.
And he's probably telling people that we're mad at him because you're yelling at him, Al. Yeah. That's why. I got poor Gio mad at me. The only way we get to talk to him is if Al puts him through. Yeah, that's true. And we trust Al with when to put them through and when not. Of course. That's the thing. So that's his deal.
You know, it's funny because whatever happened with the construction, I don't want to complain about these things, but something happened with my earphones now. Where when Al or Fleegs is close to the microphone in there, I can't hear what they're saying, but it's static, comes through my head.

Chapter 5: What was the Moment of the Day involving Evan Roberts?
I have it in my ears. You got it well? Yes. Like that.
Yeah.
So if Al picks up a phone, he's like... I'm like, oh my God. And now I can't tell. I usually be able to tell what's on the air and what's off the air. Like if something's in my headphones or on the air, I could tell. And now I can't tell that either. So you wear a double headset. You don't say it because they're in-ear headset. I wear an IFB that goes into one ear. Right.
And right now, as you're speaking, I'm hearing a static noise every time you say something. Right. Well, every time Al says something, too, right? You hear that? I can't even. I think Fleek's trying to say something to me earlier, and I couldn't understand a word he said. Things going. He's here. That's Al. It's the microphone. See, yeah, he would... It's just, it's crazy. Is that what that is?
Yeah. Why is it your mic... Yeah. See that?

Chapter 6: What insights did Martha Stewart share on the podcast?
You heard that too, right? Your mic on? No. That's been happening in the other control room for like three or four years now. Oh.
And now it's leaked over here.
I have no idea what that was. I thought that was my earpiece when in actuality it's Al's mic. Yeah. Oh. And it happens with Fleeg's mic too. Like if you were to say something to Fleeg with your mic off. See? Yeah. Now, we can't make out words good for them because they're probably trash-talking us all day long in there. Yeah, I would think so, yes. But, hey, I did it. Just like you used to.
Right, exactly. I did it. It's just what you do. You trash-talk your host. There's two idiots. Yeah, but you keep it within the family, but you got it within the control room. What's funny is that when I'm doing the warm-up show, from that position, I don't hear the people talking. Well, how much are they talking, though? You know? There's only one person in there. Yeah. This just happened.
Chapter 7: How did the Rangers-Devils game end in a goalie fight?
It used to be, like, if you laughed really loud or yelled really loud in there, I'd be able to hear it. Now it's just, like, the softest. You just laugh. But now it's the softest little thing. Like, every time you pick up the phone. And then fleeks will turn, and it'll be, like, a different tone. And then I'll go... And here I'm thinking that there's something wrong with my earpiece. No.
Well, I mean, there is because it's leaking through somehow. But whatever. Just another reason for Al to not answer the phone. True. It's also something that we have to battle through here. We're battlers. We are battlers. We're not backing down. We cannot be distracted. We can't be distracted by the... The drilling below us? No.
They're not going to be distracted by this feedback that's coming through their microphones. Well, we have, you know, today I have to say I have been distracted a little bit by it. Both things. I brought both of them up. But I feel like they were just, I had to get it off my chest type of deal, you know? Yeah, but it's more of a 1% thing for you.
I don't think it's affected anything that you've done. No, no, no, no. You know, we power through. That's what we do. You give us a challenge. We will accept it. We will conquer it. You give us a puddle, we'll jump over it. You give us a mountain, we'll climb it. Whatever it takes. You give us lemons, we make lemonade. A lot of people do. You know?
Chapter 8: What concerns do fans have about the Knicks' performance this season?
Yeah. Jerry's concoction has that full lemon in it. Yes. And Al's been trying to debunk that concoction. Why is he trying to debunk Jerry's concoction? If it makes Jerry feel good and Jerry claims that he's not getting sick because he's using this, why would Al go out of his way? Because he doesn't understand why the lemon peel has any sort of... Yeah, I wasn't trying to debunk it.
I was asking Grok, here are ingredients to a drink. I'm told this helps your prostate. What in there is helping the prostate? Like, what's the magic? And Grock said, eh, it's probably not really doing anything. Yeah, anecdotal. But many people are backing Jerry on this. And you believe me, as soon as my prostate acts up, I'm going right to that drink. But it just doesn't make sense. See?
Trying to debunk. And Grock said it's anecdotal. But Jerry does not get up in the middle of the night anymore and go to the bathroom, so he doesn't have the prostate leakage. Correct. You know what you'd call that, though? Placebo effect. A placebo effect. Okay. That's what I'll say. I think it works, but I think that I'll say it's placebo effect.
But the ingredients that he puts in there, I understand those ingredients to be healthy for you anyway. So if there's an extra benefit in his mind, why are you trying to ruin it? No, no, no. I'm not trying to ruin it. It sounds like you are. No, I'm trying to understand more. Like, oh, it's like if I wanted to. You're questioning what he is basically claiming. So you're trying to ruin it for him.
No, no, no. I'm trying to learn more about it. But when you did learn, you found out that it might be anecdotal. I think you being inquisitive and the way that you're going about... this inquisitiveness, you are debunking what he is saying. That's what I think.
I also wondered how did the guy who came up with this, how did he put a grapefruit in there first and that didn't work and then went to the lemon? What about that combination? See, it might have been an unintentional debunk, but it was a debunk. It was a debunk, 100% of debunk. He went to ask Grok about it.
Why is it working?
He gets back an answer. Seems like it's just like, yeah, the anecdotal doesn't mean anything. Whatever app you have, can't you put stuff in that app that you have? What app is that? Bobby Approved? Yeah, Bobby Approved. No, it's just like you look at ingredients, yeah. But then he didn't stay quiet about the Grok. He brought it to Jerry.
He goes, Jerry, by the way, I put this into Grok, and it said that this probably isn't working. My only concern is Jerry's not using organic lemons, and that's very heavily sprayed, and he's eating the peel. He's going to die like a praying mantis. It's going to be like one of these plastic things you've been telling us about. Plastics, yeah. You've got to be very careful.
