Chapter 1: What feel-good story does Boomer share about his foundation?
It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN. Boomer and Geo coming to you live from the Build 4 Tough studio on the Fan and CBS Sports Network on a feel-good football Friday. You want a feel-good story? I'll give you a feel-good story. So, you know, our foundation over the last three years has done an IVF program for cystic fibrosis.
People that, number one, can't afford the IVF journey like you and Gina had to go through for different reasons. And today I get great news from my daughter-in-law, Darcy, who runs that program for us. We've just had our 18th baby born through our IVF grants. And this one comes out of Ohio. Baby Aiden was born. And what makes this interesting is that, you know,
You realize where we started this whole thing back in 1993, and watch where Gunnar is now at the age of 34, which is a miracle in itself. The fact that we are now doing this and helping build families, and this young family went through two... Two IVF tries and unfortunately did not work. We're running out of funds, could not afford it anymore. And then they found our grant.
And lo and behold, baby number 18 through our BVF IVF program over the last three years is now born yesterday. So, baby Aiden. Man, that is just incredible. And, of course, I mean, to go from trying to save CF patients now to being able to give those patients that are alive children. I mean, is there... I mean... We, like, rank things here, and sometimes I fall into that.
But, I mean, is there any more of a miracle story than that in modern medicine recently? It's one of the most miraculous and incredible things that I have ever seen. And, you know, I remember in just the short amount of time,

Chapter 2: What embarrassing moment did Roger Goodell have as a DJ?
that I've been with you, working side by side with you, the things that have happened. I mean, when I started with you, it was just at the beginning of Trikafta. Yep. And now, you know, I remember a few years later, the IVF program starts up, and then obviously Gunnar and Darcy with their family, and then after that. Like, just think about it.
So this is, I mean, eight years in the grand scheme of when the foundation started is a small amount of time. Yep. And in those eight years, I've been able to see all of that just shows you How quickly things can turn with the right people, the right ideas, the fundraising, the doctors, the medicine, the science. It's 18 babies. Which is crazy.
So what's really crazy about all of this is that Gunnar and Darcy started their journey on IVF during COVID. Without telling anybody. So there was something positive that came out of COVID working with them. And I remember Gunnar called in when you were lamenting the fact that you had hand over a specimen to a nurse and how embarrassing and all that was.
And then he said, well, try doing it the way that I had to do it. Yeah, needle to the nuts. Right, exactly. Because CF men are born without a vas deferens. So it's almost like a natural vasectomy. So they had to go do the extra or go the extra yard. And because of their feelings of walking out of that hospital with my grandson, Casper, is what spawned our whole IVF program.
On Christmas Eve, no less. Yes. So Gunnar basically says to me, he goes, Dad –

Chapter 3: What unexpected dating advice did Martha Stewart give?
Because he didn't get paid to work for us or anything, but he is our chief strategy officer now because of he being an adult and living through this and everything else. He said, look, we want to do this program, and we want to have other families be able to feel what we feel. And Darcy took it up like on her own and said she wanted to do this.
So this is their way of giving back to all the people that gave to us and gave to them.
Yeah.
So this might be a good time to tell people that we're raising money for the foundation back-to-back weeks. April 19th at the Nutty Irishman in Farmingdale. We'll give you more details of when that is, exactly what time. I'll be guest bartending that day. And then April 19th will be the Portly Villager one. April 26th will be the Nutty Irishman one. So one more time.
Guest bartending, we raised over $20,000 last year at the Portly Villager. We're going to try to raise more this year. April 19th, Portly Villager. April 26th, the Nutty Irishman in Farmingdale. So if you're a Long Island person, you're hearing this, just pop it in your calendar. It'll be sometime that afternoon that we're going to do this, all leading up to the bike tour.
So just great, great stuff. And the fact that...

Chapter 4: How does Matthew Stafford plan to approach next season?
Darcy, I mean, to find someone as special as that, to throw herself into this situation, the foundation like she did, head first, diving in and saying, this is what my life's purpose is now, is impressive from out of the family to come in and be such an integral part of it.
Well, she always tells me she gets so much out of it because she sees the joy in those other families' faces, much like she and Gunnar had experienced themselves twice. So this is why this is going to continue, and We're going to grow like a kind of a baby wall at our offices to remind everybody what we're doing and why we're doing it. So this is really amazing. So it's all great. It's fantastic.
And it's great news on a feel-good Friday. So with that, let's go to Aaron in Middletown. Aaron, what's happening?
Hey, good morning. It's tough to follow up that positive note you were speaking out there. Your foundations show a lot of light on a lot of good things. But I want to go back to the 1980 miracle on ice before. And sadly, it takes something like that to unite Americans anymore. During the height of the Cold War, they really needed that boogeyman to slay, and that was the Russians.
And then you didn't really see anything like that again until 9-11.
It seems like we have to have certain things to unite under rather than just being united all the time, and it's kind of sad. And I want to see what you thought of that.
Yeah, I mean, listen, we say it all the time here on the show when we feel like there are people out there that don't remember 9-11 when we talked about we'll not forget, we'll not forget, we'll not forget. It's something that we've brought up. So, yes, I mean, unfortunately, that is the case. And the country has never felt...
like that since, and you don't want there to be a massive tragedy like that, um, to have us feel together, but that's the only time it seems to happen. Well, maybe July 4th, it will happen this year. It'll be our 250th birthday. And then of course on nine 11, it will be the 25th remembrance. And that's going to be really emotional for a lot of different reasons.
Hey, let's go to Tom and riverhead. Tom, what's happening.

Chapter 5: What is the significance of the 'Moment of the Day' message from Harrison Phillips?
Hey, how are you, man? All right. Uh, We spoke one night for a while, but going back to the eighties documentary of the hockey, great, great show. I watched it last night again, and everybody should watch it. Everybody should be encouraged to watch it because nothing's impossible. That's what happened again. As you said before us could win. They could be, they could be in the cup finals.
I think that's why everybody plays the game, as they say, no?
Yeah, that's true. I mean, back then, though, that was a bunch of college kids that were truly amateurs. They weren't getting paid. And they were playing against a Soviet team that had been together for years and had some of the greatest hockey players we'd ever seen. Mm-hmm. And they were a great team. They were truly an all-star team that had a great coach, great goaltending.
They had everything. And what they didn't expect was the grit and the toughness and the intensity that the Americans were building going into that game. That's what I got from this particular documentary and just how the fans, the expectations for them.
Chapter 6: What jokes were performed for NFL Honors?
And every time they got down, they were able to pick themselves back up again. And, you know, there's all sorts of stories around that game and what happened the night before with the Russian team and all that other stuff because they were killing everybody. Yeah. And they let their guard down. Yep.
You know, so the Americans caught them at the right time, and they did what was impossible, especially in the middle of the Cold War. Let's go to Justin in Patterson. What's up, Justin? Boomerang, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, Justin. What's happening?
Yeah, on FanDuel Sports, you can actually get better odds for Taylor Swift leaving Travis Kelsey and dating Peter Schwartz than for the U.S. men's soccer team to win the World Cup at this moment.
What are the odds for the U.S. to win?
I don't know. It's not great. They rarely get past the group stage, and if they do, they get knocked down the round of 16 almost every time.
Yeah, listen, I understand. What's the issue with that? Our best athletes are playing other sports, and the world cares more about the sport than we do. That's a good explanation on your point. I really, wow. It's what it comes down to. People do in the summer when there's nothing going on, they'll do four-hour shows on the reasons why when I just summed it up in five seconds.
That's exactly right. Let's go to Freddie in Point Pleasant. What's going on, Freddie?

Chapter 7: What themes were discussed regarding Super Bowl party ideas?
Hey, buddy. How you guys doing? Happy Feel Good Friday. How you doing, Chief? What's happening? Hey, last night during the NFL Awards, you had to see B. John Robinson play the DJ, which was awesome. However, when Raj DMC came out with his black hat and his huge chain, Roger Goodell playing the DJ, I don't know if there was anything more lamer than that, man. I tell you, buddy.
You know, I did not see that, Freddie.
No.
He probably – Who is it? The CEO of Goldman Sachs or somebody like that is a DJ. Really? Yeah, I forget. I forget which – I think it's one of those financial firms. I'm not sure. And really, I totally into it. Yeah, okay. I did not watch any of the NFL honors last night. I'm sorry. By the way, the U.S. is always – I was watching the AHL Rangers play last night. By the way, the U.S.
is only plus 4,000 to win the World Cup. There's no way they're going to. There's no way. I know there's no way. I'm sure it's just people betting on them because it's here. But they're plus 4,000. I mean, you got to maybe throw 10 bucks on just in case. Who do you think there's a better chance of? The U.S. winning the World Cup or the Jets winning the Super Bowl next year? The U.S.
winning the World Cup. As we sit here right now. So the Jets are last, dead last on the list of teams to win the Super Bowl next year. Not even tied with anybody, just dead last. Okay, well, that makes sense. At plus 25,000. So the U.S. winning the World Cup is plus 4,000. The Jets winning the Super Bowl, plus 25,000.
By the way, there is a team that is in the Super Bowl this year that nobody thought was going to make it. And that's the Patriots. Yeah, they weren't plus 25,000. I know. They weren't dead last. Giants plus 7,500. That'd be more like where the Patriots were last year.

Chapter 8: How did the hosts conclude the episode with their predictions?
World Cup. I think if I were Aaron Glenn, I may put that up on the board to start the meetings. That's embarrassing for everybody. No, it's not. It's motivation. It's inspiration. No, they'll do exactly what you did. That makes sense. Piss me off. That's how I would feel about it. You got to earn it, right? Yeah. Let's go to Sean on Long Island. What's up, Sean? Hey, guys. Happy Friday.
It's me for mom. I'm the Little League coach, Gio. Oh, yeah, that's right. Little League coach was banging the moms and bringing the snacks.
Snacks and a snatch.
Yeah, got it. All right, so check this out, right? I got invited to a Super Bowl party, but it's a Jersey-themed party. Yeah. And I think that's kind of lame. So what do you think I need, what I should do? Like, Boomer, I'm pretty sure you've been to Super Bowl parties. Do you wear your own jersey? That you've played with?
No, the only time I actually put my jersey on is when I'm getting ready to sign like a thousand Tops football cards because they want to put a piece of jersey with the card. That's the only time that I put it on. No, I would never wear another man's jersey to a Super Bowl party. I'm sorry. Okay, good. All right. I'm like, listen, a bunch of men jumping around with other men's jerseys on? Yeah.
That's not even part of the Super Bowl at that because that's probably what it's going to be. So what should I do? Yeah, I mean – I don't want to be the odd one out. No, you can't. I think a hoodie. I think if you want to wear your favorite team. Sean, what are you a fan of? The Giants, Jets? I'm a Bengals fan, Boomer. I'm a Bengals fan. All right. And I'm going to tell you why.
Because back in the day when I was young, the uniform and everything reminded me of Tony the Tiger, the cereal. So that always – That's how I became a Bengals fan. Crazy. But, yeah. So, I don't know what to do. You got a Bengals hoodie or something? You have something like that?
I got a couple of t-shirts. Maybe I can wear, like, a thermal shirt and then a t-shirt. shirt over it.
Yeah, I mean, listen, do you. Don't fold to societal pressure.
