Chapter 1: What are the highlights of the Knicks vs. Lakers game?
We'll start with a little basketball just after the announcement that the NBA coaches voted him into his 22nd consecutive All-Star game. LeBron James played in, we'll call it, perhaps his final game at Madison Square Garden. That remains to be seen. Either way, it was all Knicks in the second half against LeBron's Lakers.
He's had 13 assists for Jalen Brunson. The offense for Ananobi skies and slams. What a board.
Chapter 2: How did LeBron James perform in his possible last game at Madison Square Garden?
What a putback. Wow. Oh, gee. On the offensive glass here. Taking a page from Mitchell Robinson on the glass.
That's Mike Tirico, Reggie Miller from their first Sunday night basketball broadcast on NBC. A quiet shooting night for Jalen Brunson and Carl Anthony Towns. But the Knicks spread the wealth in an eventual 1-12-100 win over the Lakers. That's six in a row now. He had 25 points for OG Ananobi. Josh Hart had 20 for a third consecutive game. First time he's done that as a Knick.
And Landry Shavitt was huge off the bench. 23 points, including six threes. Here's Brunson on being more of a distributor in this particular game.
Shots not falling. You've got to impact the game somewhere else. I kept seeing two people, and so I was just trying to make the right play at the right time, and we were getting good looks.
And those 13 assists for Brunson that Tirico mentioned a season high for Brunson. The other end of the floor contributed to the second half turnaround as well.
Defense, my pressure, physicality turned up a little bit. A little different from the first half. It was big time for us. That's what we needed.
You've got six in a row now, man. Yeah. That's good. They're playing their best basketball, and it's all under the auspice of this potential trade with Giannis Antetokounmpo happening before Thursday. The question is, where is Giannis going? Is he going? I've got to believe he is going because I've got to believe there's intense pressure from Milwaukee to make a deal.
There is, but they're going to try to wait until the end of the year. But I just don't think with the temperature that's getting put on or turned up on this situation that they're going to be able to do it. I just think that Giannis wants out now. He does, but he doesn't have to. At some point, one of these organizations can say, F off, guy. We don't have to do it now.

Chapter 3: What contributed to the Knicks' sixth consecutive win?
It's not going to happen. They owe him because he won a championship. Okay. So he can do whatever he wants. He can act like a total jackass. There's $100 million that he's earned himself, and there's this thing about winning a championship or an MVP that somehow the organization owes you. You don't owe the organization. I mean, it's crazy.
Funny how that works, right?
Yes.
Well, as far as the Knicks are concerned, Mike Brown, some of the players talking about technical changes and adjustments they've made to the defensive system, forcing opponents to the baseline. They've got all these reasons for why the defense is suddenly working, so winning helps, obviously.
Share all those secrets, why don't you?
Yes, exactly. Yes, and talk of better communication as well. So, point being, in the midst of all this noise and the rumors with Giannis, it seems the team, at least on the court, has come together. It's working during the winning streak because they've held opponents to 100 points or less in five of those six games.
That is great, man. They finished January strong. They win yesterday. Because we are into February, a lot of these contracts, anybody that signed a contract this past year now is eligible to be traded. So you would think that if something is going to happen, it's going to be major. I know we already had one trade with Cavaliers.
If things happen, it's going to start happening now in the next couple days.
Trade deadline Friday, as CGS Sports Network just put that up there on the screen.

Chapter 4: What are the implications of the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors?
My error.
It's all right, man. You're a mistake. I apologize. And you own it.
And today is Groundhog's Day, right?
Yes, and you're being held accountable right now.
Yes.
Which is fine. When does that happen? Like 7 o'clock or something? Something like that. Punxsutawney, Phil? Yeah, the people that have told me over the years that it's something they always wanted to do, to go to that thing, and I can't imagine why. It's like a giant tailgate, right? Yeah, but I mean, is it?
I don't need to go to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania for that, do I? I mean, is a giant tailgate that early? Maybe. I mean, I don't doubt that they, you know. Start sipping the libations and having some fun.
I feel like that's something Eddie would want to go to. Is that something you'd want to see in person, Eddie? Potentially, yeah.
You have time to get to that next year.

Chapter 5: How did the Knicks adjust their defensive strategy during their winning streak?
It was a great game.
for the stadium series matchup between the Lightning and the Bruins. The home team scored 11 seconds in, but Boston gets the next five. So it's 5-1 in the second period when things started to get a little chippy. They had a bit of a scuffle after Tampa Bay scored to make it 5-2. And then moments later, this happened with the game airing on ESPN.
That's Hagel in front of the net again. Swayman is hot. Vasilevsky's coming out across center ice. Swayman and Vasilevsky may go. Swayman tells Vasilevsky, take your mask off, and he obliges. This is crazy.
Oh.
And they're swinging at each other, Sean McDonough, Ray Ferraro. It was great, man. Taking each other down. Oh, it was unbelievable. And then as soon as they did, Vasilevsky's patting them on the head. You know, hey, good fight, good job. So everyone was all fired up. Players on the bench were, I mean, Pasternak looked like he was, you know, getting aroused on the bench.
They were going crazy, man. And really, the comeback for Tampa was nuts. And then they went in a shootout. I mean, God almighty, what a game.
So I'm driving to SNY. I had the Knicks on the radio. The game ends. I'm like, let me fire up Michigan and Esposito here and see what's going on in this outdoor game. Right as this happens.
Right. So go Kucharov. One-time shot.
Score! From a very tight angle, he beats Swim and it's 5-5.
