Chapter 1: What happened during the Mets game against the Giants?
7-2 loss for the Mets last night in the first to four with the Giants in San Francisco. So Bo Bichette had the RBI double in the top of the first, but David Peterson struggled from the jump. And then Bichette did not hit with much luck the rest of the night, but his swings and the contact certainly looked and sounded a whole lot better.
Ready from the belt, takes a deep breath in the 2-1. Swing and a high fly ball, center field. Bader going back, flips his hips, drifting back to the warning track. He jumps at the wall, and he makes the catch. Harrison Bader might have taken one away from Beau Bichette. Tidwell's 1-2. Lines are first, caught by Schmidt, and he steps on first to double up Soto, who had no chance.
We call those loud outs. That's a good sign if you're looking for, you know, the underlying metrics and the numbers, right? Boomer, he hit the hard contact last night.
Yeah, the underlying metrics are important.
Yes, they are.

Chapter 2: How did David Peterson perform in the game?
And that was Pat McCarthy, Keith Radd, Odyssey, Mets Radio. So Bichette keeps hitting the ball like that. He'll be just fine. And Carlos Mendoza says he's coming along.
We'll have him really good at bats today. That first inning, that double, then the one he drove to center field. I thought that bats today from him looked like Bo Bichette. And didn't sense he had been really pressing at all anyway.
He looked a little more relaxed.
yeah he's fine yeah i think other than that you know first three games at home he's settling nicely um yeah not trying to do too much let the game come to him and when he's doing that he's a pretty good player as for david peterson he was lifted after four and a third he gave up nine hits six runs five earned and then gave way to sean mania who pitched the remainder of the game stretched himself out 74 pitches he was pleased afterwards yes um you know i felt really really good uh
It was kind of grindy there in the seventh inning. I lost a little bit, but we locked it in. In the eighth inning, it felt really, really good.
Let's see if they can get him back to where he was a couple years ago. Mets fall under .500 at 3-4, obviously very much in the early going.

Chapter 3: What did Carlos Mendoza say about Bo Bichette's performance?
Tonight, it's Nolan McClain opposed by Tyler Malley, a 10-15 first pitch. The Yankee home opener today against the Marlins. Both teams 5-1. Will Warren, Uri Perez are the starting pitchers. We've got pregame coverage at 1255. That's after the midday show broadcast live from the Bronx. Evan Tiki and Sean will come your way coming up at 10 o'clock.
Talking about the baseball locals, not a whole lot of audio for me to play otherwise, so I've got Eddie C. Oh, my God. So good. I had this in the system as June 6th, 08. I don't know if that's just when I saved it, but it's from back in the day. He was hosting on the fan and was fed up with the local baseball callers and was not afraid to let them know it.
Listen, as I said, going back and forth, the last thing in the world I want to hear is back and forth between Yankee and Mets fans. It's just music to my ears. I want to kill myself, okay? That's basically what I want to do. And if I have to listen to it anymore, I'll leave early. We'll play music, okay? That's the bottom line. 718-937-6666. Your team stinks. No, your team stinks.
Okay, let's do that for the next 20 minutes, all right? Oh, what a legend. Ah, boy, Eddie.
Love Eddie. Love Eddie C. Tremendous. Yeah, I mean, he also didn't grow up in Mets or Yankees fan.
That's a factor as well.
So, yeah, hearing those things, he was like, oh, God. Just didn't want to be the referee. Two fan bases. Get me out of here. Shut up. Yeah. Oh, that's great.
Royals catcher Carter Jensen removed from the KC starting lineup for their game yesterday against the Twins after he overslept. Didn't wake up for his alarm. He slept through it. And he said, quote, don't really have an excuse, nor should I. It sucks. It happens. Feel like I let my teammates down, coaches down, so on and so forth. They ended up losing that game 5-1.
Salvador Perez, the veteran who was supposed to DH, ended up catching the first eight innings before they did get Jensen in late. Vinny Pasquantino had some, I'll call them extended thoughts on the matter post-game. After first complimenting Perez for stepping up in a pinch when he was supposed to get a half day off, he turned his attention to the youngster Jensen.

Chapter 4: What are the implications of the Mets' early season performance?
I'm not shocked. Did you have teammates that overslept or pulled out? Yeah, all the time.
Did you rip them? Did you go public with them? We waited until the coach ripped them in front of us, and then we'd rip them in the locker room. We had a hell of a lot of time. We made fun of them.
By the way, we had a power lunch yesterday. First two people there were in Geo. Of course. Out of the 12. This is what we do.
Wow.
We were there waiting for them. That's a power move.
I don't want to make anybody wait for me. You know what I mean?
Power move. Oh, they're here already?

Chapter 5: What frustrations did Eddie Coleman express about fans?
Ooh. All right. Better get our stuff together.
Were there some concerned faces when the others showed up and you guys were already there? There were a couple people about 10 minutes late.
Couldn't order our apps until then. But it was all good. All great people. Wonderful people.
One other... We're on Tom Coughlin time.
Damn right. Always. Yes, Sheila? What? Can I get one more Matt Laughlin before I go? Why not? Sure. Here's a pass up ahead for Bryce. A cross line with Jack. Slides into Jack. He scores!
Peanut butter and jelly combined. And it's 4-2. I mean, it sounds like they're in a playoff push there. I mean, that's having a blast there last night. When you put up seven, it helps in front of the home crowd as Jack Hughes had two goals and three assists. Jesper Brad a five-point night. They beat the Capitals 7-3.
While the Rangers, despite coming back at the third period of time, Montreal at 2-0. End up losing that game 3-2. You got the Islanders and the Flyers tonight. UBS Arena. Knicks host the Bulls. The Nets visit the Hawks. Coverage on the fan at 720. And the UConn women play their Final Four game against South Carolina.
Look at Tom Hamlin here in the box for the Royals. It's hilarious. Yeah, we have this Yes Network on one of those monitors, as Gio said earlier this morning. And we're watching this game, the opening day from 1996.

Chapter 6: How did Jack Hughes contribute to the Devils' win?
In the snow. What is amazing is how many times... The batter steps out of the batter's box, and the pitcher steps off the rubber. Oh, yeah. And this is why the pitch clock is maybe the greatest invention that baseball ever came up with.
And what you're seeing here is nothing compared to how bad it got just before they put the pitch clock in.
I mean, every pitch takes like 20 seconds, 25 seconds, for God's sake.
Yeah. Remember how bad it got when Nomar Garcia-Parrott came into the league? Oh, my God, with the gloves. The batting gloves.
