Each episode features Dan taking on a new case, with the plot usually involving a missing person, a stolen object, or a murder.The show was produced by Mayfair Productions, and its creator, Richard Sanville, drew inspiration from his own experiences as a writer receiving strange letters in response to his ads. The show's scripts were written by a team of experienced mystery writers, including Russell Hughes, Robert Ryf, and E.
