Finance Specialist: Alt doc shouldn't be the default solution

Alt doc is an important offering in the lending ecosystem. However, brokers who immediately jump to these types of loans could be disadvantaging clients. While Carter said he certainly isn't anti-alt doc, he understands that it isn't always the best option. Some brokers may fall into the trap of going down this path due to its fast and simple nature. Carter urged listeners to really determine what is the best option for the borrower. Understanding who you're representing is crucial for commercial and finance brokers.
