It's Ernie here, and we have a really special episode for you today. We are sharing the live Budget Nerds that we did at FanFest Minneapolis, where we interviewed Ashley L. from The Organized Wallet. This will be my one, I'll say one sappy thing about them and then we will, and then we'll get straight to the nerdiness. I'm the oldest of three sisters and growing up, I always wondered what it would like be like to have brothers. And if I could choose. And I have to say, they love the YNAB community so much, and they love the Budget Nerd listeners so much. Every time you guys write in with a YNAB win, they read it, they love it. So thank you all so much for being part of the community.
Aw, thanks, Ashley. Okay. I have a confession to make. I just want to talk sports with you. Here's the deal. We're in Minneapolis. My beloved Vikings play here. I mean, U.S. Bank Stadium is, yes, it's right over there. Ashley used to be my supervisor, and bless her heart, we would start every meeting talking sports. Not a sports fan, right? She knew who I was, and it was so fun. And generally, we're talking Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey stuff.
I was about to say, I think the universe prepared. They gave me Ernie, and I was like, okay, I can learn about football. I can do this. And then they're like, Taylor Swift has a new boyfriend. I said, Ernie, I know this man. You've talked to me about it.
So yeah, I just want to talk sports, but no one wants to hear that, so we're going to dig into your categories and hear your story.
Yeah, so tell us your story of how you started YNAB and how that started.
My YNAB story starts in June of 2018. I was sitting alone in my living room on a big, beige, kind of ugly couch, and I was furious at myself. Now, the guys already know this, but I met my husband, Jeremy, in the summer in between 10th and 11th grade. He is kind and smart and very nerdy, so probably why I get along with this crew so well.
