Neelu and I have been planning this conversation for probably a year and it was well worth the wait, I’m sure you’ll agree. The main theme of the conversation is self-advocacy in other words speaking up for yourself. When you have ideas, when you present your work, when you need time off, when you need help,  Neelu gives us tips on how we can get better at this. We talk about the connection between self-advocacy and burnout but also links to the success of organisations who need people to self-advocate in order to have a future-facing, innovative culture. Neelu also explores the role of culture and cultural expectations in mental wellbeing, something we haven’t looked at in the podcast before. She wasn’t always a big self-advocate and shares her journey to becoming her own best cheerleader which is really relatable.
