16 Sep 2020

Description

In this episode we interview Renwick Brutus.  Renwick is an entrepreneur, business consultant and motivational speaker. We begin our interview with our guest Renwick Brutus, talking about this key question, “What right do you have to deny anybody the opportunity to benefit from who you are, what you know, and what you do?”. As a leader and entrepreneur, Renwick helps individuals and teams identify and use more of their potential to increase performance and results. He  guides individuals to be irresistible to their organizations, customers, and the market-at-large.  On top of all that, Renwick provides investment and wealth management guidance to individuals.   Renwick’s philosophy is, “Too many of us are programmed to follow paths that are not congruent with our natural interests and strengths.  We are not aware of the wide, open spaces around us in which we can express who we are.  All of us deserve to find our rightful place, to live joyfully, and to excel”.  During our interview we discuss with Renwick the world’s response to George Floyds death. Renwick shares his perspective that the visual imagery of George Floyd’s killing was worth 10 million words because it enabled the world to see the magnitude of the negative attitudes and treatment that has persisted toward black people.  It also brought systemic racism to the forefront of consciousness in a way no words or complaints could.  Renwick shares his personal experience with racism and how he chooses to respond to it.  He also acknowledges that many people opposed to racism are doing their part to systemically crush it, and many are working quietly to stamp out racism and this gives him the sense that he is not alone.   In the interview Renwick also conveys his thoughts and reflections on how others who want to can learn, understand, and stamp out injustices and systemic racism.  We close the interview with conversation about leadership during these times. Renwick’s wisdom is profound.  Listen and find out for yourself!Email us at [email protected] if you have any questions, we may use your question on a future episode. We have opened a private Resilient and Balanced Healthcare Leader Community in Facebook to provide a safe space for healthcare leaders to connect, support each other and share their experiences during this time of crisis.  To join Click here.In this podcast, business leaders navigate the challenges of high-pressure jobs, tackling burnout, micromanagement, and decision fatigue while honing emotional intelligence, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities to strengthen their leadership identity.
