Podcast. I gotta talk about something that completely, completely delivered. And that was the main event. And I loved the main event. I was so excited to talk. about the main event tonight for so many different reasons, more so than most people will understand. Um We all have our own pet peeves. We all have our own things that we just don't like. However, there's also stuff that is wrong. And by a say wrong It's done wrong. And it's done across the board in every company. But when it's done correctly and it's done right, it has to be pointed out. And there's a lot of them. Um and everything was done correctly in that main event. If I seriously walked up to a stranger who knew nothing about wrestling, I'd say, what's a lumberjack match?
They'd be like, Huh? What's a bad street match? What's a false count anywhere match? A false count anywhere. Okay, well false count anywhere. I get that. No DQ. All these things that are made up. Are like a boot camp match, the famous, the world famous boot camp match. But what happens in that match? I don't know. What's the difference? Whatever you want it to be. This was billed as Mile High Madness. And that's exactly what you got. It's market specific to Denver. But it could be now a staple in AEW because of how good that first main event was. Um, and it was exactly as advertised madness. You don't know what's going on. It had so many great elements. I'm gonna break down a lot of them, but also correctly done.
And it was because of the men in the ring. Right off the battery. Here comes the music. Everybody loves to sing uh Jungle Boy's music. He's back. He's a baby face. We all like to see it. However he's out there alone and the heels decide to jump him. There are no rules. It's mile mile high madness. So here we go. Fight, fight, fight. The music continues. That's the first Hook to all of this. This is straight up ECW, Enter the Sandman, more so New Jack and the Gangsters hitting that ring. It's a mosh pit. It's people celebrating all this like singing, dancing, and all of a sudden this symphony of violence happens. With the bad guys jumping the good guys, then what has to happen? Here come the good guys. And before there's
big peril where this guy could get hurt early on, here comes our next wave of good guys. And then dives and the fight continues. And then guess what? Here comes more baby faces. And now everything Is even. The best part about something like this when done correctly, it's the build. And we had a great audience that was loud all night. But they really got into this. Then they take us to this three camera shoot. Which is confusing to follow. But you can't keep your eyes off of it. If you look at news reports when people would watch the news and weirdly a lot of people do. Or great plays in baseball or football or disputed calls. They're showing you every camera angle they can. Or if there's um something chaotic has happened.
They try to get every angle possible for what they could see to show people. On To the world. So I love that element as well. And we have people fighting in the stands, we have people fighting in the back, we have people fighting in the ringside. A whole heck of a lot of nothing is really going on? But with the music playing and bodies moving, it continues to be exciting. Then when we have an a nice little appearance where you think someone's gonna push someone down a flight of stairs in a wheelchair, 'cause that's what we like to see when it's the bad guy. But nope, the good guy goes down those steps. Now we all get back everything to where it should be is to the ring. And what the men did was again to tell a story.
And then finally after many, many um revolutions or repu uh they just kept playing the music. And then they finally bring it back down because the action is just so good that the action will continue. You know, New Jack pretty much had a stipulation that by the time you're
