Jacob had to think about it.
Jacob had to think about it, and then he went to SmackDown. Jacob goes to SmackDown and gets Jimmy and Jay are there. weirdly to booze with a lot of their back and forth. And I watched all this today because I knew I was hosting tonight. I had a busy weekend wrestling three nights, right? So I was surprised to the boos how they were booing Jimmy and Jay in SmackDown.
Then here comes Solo and his crew and then yay for cheers.
Chapter 2: How did Jacob Fatu's appearance impact the storyline with Roman Reigns?
We had a nice outing by Jacob Fatu basically killing half the MFTs. Wipes them out and now we have this continuation. We saw a little bit of Jacob Fatu earlier in the night kind of like backstage stuff. And we know we're waiting on Roman Reigns. The beginning of the show, I really, really liked. I like the sit-down of the... I'm hoping the bloodline, but I think they're changing it. Um...
And they called them the first family, I believe, in that sit down. Kind of shot cinematic. I liked it.
Chapter 3: What was the significance of the sit-down promo with the Bloodline?
And I liked how they did everything with their fists together and then Roman on top. I know they've done that before, but looks like we're headed into a different version with the bloodline. And like, listen, man, they are. I said this last week, they are the newer generation of the bloodline with this whole Samoan family, family dynasty, but they're the ones that have made the money.
Um, we've talked about the hardship that the Samoans have also gone through and, you know, these guys have been those leaders. Um, Which kind of led to why Jacob wanted to be where he's at. I liked, again, that opening promo felt like a movie. Got us to kick off Raw the right way. We go into the main event or the last segment of the night.
Chapter 4: How did the crowd react to Jacob Fatu during his segment?
Overall, excellent wrestling show, excellent wrestling crowd. Laredo, I've wrestled there many times. You're beautiful. You brought it, and I love hearing sold out. So Roman comes out with not a whole lot to say, and then interrupted by Jacob. Fans are loving Jacob. I really got to say... They were loving them. They have some nice back and forth.
Andre, the producing giant, he put it in my head that Jacob's promos remind him of Jake the Snake.
Chapter 5: What key points did Roman Reigns make in his promo?
And now I can't get that out of my head. And he's spitting some real truth. Jacob Fatu is basically like, hey, while I'm watching all you guys rise, I'm grinding. And by those grinding, I'm grinding on the indies. And I'm trying to survive. He at one point said, I'm starving. and I'm foaming at the mouth, and the person who calls him is Solo.
And I was just like, whoa, that's a heavy, heavy conversation because you just turned Roman and Jimmy and Jay to look like complete assholes. that they did not call their own cousin to be like, yo, let me hook you up. And it could be just his perception of how this all went down.
Chapter 6: How did Jacob Fatu's delivery change audience perception?
It's also storyline how this all went down. And then Jacob continues on his conversation. And man, I'm hearing the people rumble for him. And when he's spitting out his truth and when he raises octaves and he can talk the talk, he's a real... By real, he's a, man, he's got that street lingo that he could bring it.
And, like, he could, and I'll say this very, he can wine and dine with kings and queens. He can also, what is it, lay in, I forgot my friggin' Dusty Rhodes promo. But also lay in alleys and eat pork and beans. Which means I could talk to the highest of people and I could also talk to my street people, boogie-woogie man style. And he's bringing his dialogue.
Chapter 7: What implications does the Jacob Fatu vs. Roman Reigns match have for Backlash?
He's bringing all of his stuff. And when I'm telling you, I was like, man, if this is ever a crowd where they're going to really start to turn and really get behind...
jacob i was like it's happening it's happening right in front of my eyes and like all of this back and forth like i said man like i was shocked my two baby faces jimmy and jay are put in this situation in smackdown where we're bowing them and then on raw we're doing this opening segment then the closing segment we have where we're just loving roman And now we're just totally loving Jacob.
And I was like, man, which way is this going to go? And again, I have to put my old school philosophies behind because if they're just cheering on some segments and not cheering on others, it is a reactionary business. Me, I just want to always get behind my baby faces because for heels, straight up heels, people don't want to buy your merchandise. They want to hate you.
But I don't know if they're hating many people right now in the WWE. Back to this segment.
Chapter 8: What are the overall challenges in the current WWE storytelling?
And Andre, I know you have a lot of pieces together. But I guess... I'll lead up right now if I could go to Roman's promo because I'm kind of at that situation. Again, the opening segment was cool. It was cinematic and it was just like, hey, we're the heads of the table. This is our show, that type of situation.
So I don't know if I need much of that for the nation, but I like to get into like the back and forth right here.
You see, they made this title in spite of me. They made this title to try to take away from my shine. But it never worked. You see, there's an old saying, and it's very true. The title don't make the man. The man makes the title. And that's exactly what I've done with this strap. I put it in the main event. I put it in night two of WrestleMania. I made this title relevant. Oof.
All right. Just a couple things here. Saying I put the title on night two of WrestleMania, I feel... when you talk about night one of WrestleMania, especially night one this year where it hasn't been perceived as the better part of a show. And I get what Roman's saying because that title was made because no one could beat Roman and they made it as the secondary world title.
I would say Seth Rollins is the one who made that title the most relevant and really got us way into that entire situation. So... I get my baby face is Roman Reigns and there is nobody like him. But if you listen, a lot of that part, they're not reacting, which is okay because they're listening.
And then when he raises his voice and he says about the title, the title doesn't make the man, the man makes the title. Okay, you're right. And then they're going to acknowledge him because they want to be part of that back and forth banter. So, I can't say I worry because WrestleMania is literally a year from now and no one's going to remember stuff like this.
But when a babyface says that or your top guy, you're then belittling night one of WrestleMania. The other part is, what if next year you're on night one? Does that mean it's not going to be as big as... A deal, the other part, and it's Roman pretty much crapped over Seth, Gunther, Jay, and Punk, who are your other top babyfaces.
And oh yeah, by the way, Jay is your, you know, he's supposedly in this new family. So that was just a little hmm to me. Anyway, people of Rado, we're all right with it. And then here comes Jacob. He basically says, I don't need. I loved his delivery because he does. He takes you on a ride, right? Andre, if you could just play his retort just so we can really hear it.
When I told you that I didn't want that title, but I need that title. What, you must be stuck in your WWE main event bubble, huh? Huh? What, you must be stuck in tribal chief land, huh? You ain't grind like me, Roman. See, I'm a cup with it. I'm all raw with it, huh? 12 years of hard work, 12 years of grinding, 12 years of suffering, not knowing what the next meal was gonna be, huh?
