Welcome to the Busted Open Podcast. This is Dave LaGrecka. On today's episode, myself and Tommy Dreamer sit down with Tatum Paxley of NXT, who had a great promo with the fans on Tuesday night. Also, I call out the frauds. And one of the people I call out, Daria Ray, all that right now on the Busted Open Podcast. This is the Busted Open Podcast. Come March seventh. We are going to have a new NXT women's North American champion. And it's our guest who joins us right now, and that is Tatum Paxley. Tatum, thank you so much for the time and appreciate you coming on with us this morning.

Thousand percent. I I all I want to do here is connect with the people and getting to even just sit with them. It was just so uh It was beautiful for me. Like I I've been saying for a while, all I want to do is connect with the audience, but I wasn't listening to them for so long because they were telling me for so long, like Tatum, we like you as you are. And I just kind of kept trying to change for somebody else, but finally I am listening to them. And then come March 7th, they are going to see who Tatum Paxley is without leeching onto somebody else.
See, I lo I love the answer because it is true life, Tatum. Like a lot of times and I think we're all guilty of this. You wanna Go along to get along. You know, you make your decisions based on not how you truly feel, but how others feel, because you want to feel a part of something. And a lot of times when you're on your own, you feel differently. So you want to be a part of the group. But sometimes when you're a part of the group, you're not being yourself. And also you can't trust everybody and those feelings and those decisions. And I think I think you've unfortunately have learned that firsthand. For a while you weren't listening to yourself and you weren't listening to the people who actually supported you.
But so it's good to see you that you're back on that road.
Yeah, a thousand percent. I think it took me a long time to learn that. And like even though I do feel like I have been relatable to the audience and that's That's my goal and that will f that will always be my goal here. I just, yeah, they they were telling me all along, like, no, like you are perfect as you are. And I'm going, well, what if I can be this for Ivy Nile? What if I could be this for Lyra Valkyria? What if I'm this for Izzy Dame? And that, like, at the end of the day, left me all alone and heartbroken, where finally I was like. With no title and no family anymore, I finally woke up and realized I don't need to change who I am. I'm gonna stay crazy and weird and you know, like I'm gonna have the audience with me as well.
Like that's much better than Izzy Dame who's just gonna turn on me anyways.
Was there a specific moment? Because I remember the first time I saw you Not only in NXT, but got to work with you in T and A and I was like, Man, she's really good in the ring, but I haven't seen her that much in the ring. But as you're then developed, I'm like, Wow, she's a really good wrestler. And yes, the weird girl, the girl kinda in a shell, but what was the moment that made it break out for you? Was it like in the ring, sitting at home, something?
Um, so first starting off, like when I got to go over there and wrestle Jordan, that was like That was a really big thing for me because that was my first time wrestling, not surrounded by WWE World and everybody that I know. It was a whole new world. So getting to do that, like really just like I always say Jordan really elevated me. So I'm super grateful to have gotten to do that. But when I came to the realization, now uh are you asking like when I decided who I was, or when I finally had this realization that I don't need somebody. Is that what you want the question?
