Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Welcome to the Busted Open Podcast. This is Dave LaGreca. On today's episode, myself and Natty Neidhart talk about Asuka. What's her future in the WWE?
Chapter 2: Why is Asuka's farewell significant in WWE?
And we get interrupted by Jada Parker. Also, Jacob Fatu and his main event match with Roman Reigns from Backlash. All that right now on the Busted Open Podcast. This is the busted open podcast. We have made at least for the time being are saying goodbye to Oscar.
Chapter 3: What does Asuka's future look like in WWE?
Does that mean forever? Does that mean her WWE career is over that she's taking some time off? I really don't know.
Chapter 4: How did Jada Parker's interruption change the conversation?
When are we going to find out? I have no idea. And what do you do now with Io Sky? Because Io Sky is definitely one of the best wrestlers in the WWE.
Chapter 5: What was Jacob Fatu's performance like against Roman Reigns?
So who better to talk to and ask than the heartbeat of Busted Open herself, the low-key legend.
natty neidhart so so natty let me ask you like after what we saw at backlash and what we saw on monday night raw what's the future of oscar right now i mean i i think this is the million dollar question that everybody wants to know and you know i am somebody that i was there the night of backlash i wanted to be in gorilla to watch Asuka versus Io because, first of all, it's a dream match.
It's a dream match for the entire world because these are two of the best women wrestlers in the entire world. Actually, two of the best wrestlers in the entire world. So it was something I just wanted to be there in person for, but... I could sense prior to the match that Asuka was really emotional. Yeah.
And Asuka, for those of us that know Asuka, we know that she's not an overly emotional person. In my entire time of knowing Asuka on the main roster, which has been over a decade, I have never ever seen Asuka cry ever. And before she went out through the curtain, I could sense that her eyes, I don't know, she just looked like she was about to cry.
Chapter 6: What emotional moments did Asuka display during her match?
And because this means everything to her, and I think this match means everything to her. And this match, Asuka and Io, you don't just get to be two of the best women wrestlers, two of the best wrestlers hands down in the world by not having that kind of passion. So I felt that passion pouring out through Asuka. I felt like she also just had something weighing heavily on her heart.
I don't know exactly what it is. And of course, my thing is, especially with girls in the locker room, that if women want to open up, I will let them open up. And I'm always going to be there to listen. But unless Asuka personally shares with me exactly what's going on, I'm not gonna pry, sort of thing. So they go out there, Asuka and Io give this master class in professional wrestling.
It was a beautiful match, the crowd was chanting, this is awesome. It was amazing. And then when Asuka got back, I don't know what it was, Dave, but I just had this feeling that something was going on with Asuka. But again, nothing has been confirmed. Nobody has said, hey, Asuka is retiring. Asuka has not said that she's retiring.
I'm a big believer in, and I will say this now, and I will stand by this. Breaks are very healthy for people. And mental health and taking breaks. And I'm not saying it's Asuka's mental health. We don't know exactly what's going on. It could be a personal situation.
Chapter 7: How has Asuka influenced other wrestlers like Io Sky?
I know Asuka is very, very close to her family. But whatever it is that's going on, if she needs to press pause, that is more than okay.
And I totally understand that. And you're right. Sometimes you need to take a step aside or take a step back and kind of reevaluate a situation. And maybe that's what Oscar needs to do, you know, maybe on a personal level or maybe even on a professional level. I'll go back to what you said at the beginning.
That EO Sky Oscar match at Backlash, Natty, we're going to be talking about that match in December as one of the best matches of 2026. Oh, absolutely. That match, like you just said, was a master's class. There's no doubt about it.
And it was a match where two women were pouring their entire heart and soul onto the canvas, onto the mat. And they were painting this beautiful picture for the world to see that you don't just get to be great overnight. These two girls, this is not an overnight success story. This is two women that have been working decades, Dave, to be that.
Yeah.
No, and it showed at Backlash. First of all, Backlash I thought was awesome this past weekend.
Top to bottom.
It kind of gave you everything that is the WWE and professional wrestling in one show. But that match in particular to me was the best match and the best part of Backlash this past Saturday. But also watching Asuka and what Asuka's been able to do for EO Sky. And when I say that is elevate EO Sky's
I think EO Sky would be the first one to tell you, Natty, that she wouldn't be where she is right now if there wasn't that challenge of Asuka. And Asuka, we've seen Asuka do that. We've seen Asuka bring out the best in Charlotte. We've seen Asuka bring the best out of everybody she's been in the ring with. And obviously, we've seen that with EO Sky.

Chapter 8: What challenges does Jada Parker face in her wrestling career?
I think it's the Saturday, the 21st or 22nd, but that's coming up. And then Italy, the show in Italy. So Clash in Italy is going to be really cool. We got Saturday Night's Main Event. I mean, with Backlash, Clash, and Saturday Night's Main Event, we've got a lot of good stuff. I do, I am excited to see, I really, really want to see
you know, we've got, when I look at the landscape, I'm like, okay, so we've got a couple of new players. I want to see like how the new players gel with, with, with the veteran talent. So I am very, very curious to see how soul is going to handle Becky Lynch, because we know Dave, I got a real, you know, take the storyline aside. We know that Becky is a master at working with, with legends.
She's a master at working with new talent. Um, But I feel personally that Becky is like, okay, she can feel that Soul is gonna be a real threat to her IC title. And so Becky is being very, very bitchy. And what did you think about last week with Soul? What were your thoughts on that?
Listen, just like what we had earlier with Jada Parker, Natty, if you're going to show up, you better show up and you better be ready for a fight. I think Soul was ready for that. And you got to take the opportunities as they come. You're in the ring with Becky Lynch. Like you said, say what you want about Becky Lynch and her attitude. She's one of the biggest WWE superstars the last 20 years.
So if you're going to step in that position, then you have to show up. And so Ruka, you look at, all right, even in a loss to EO Sky, look how good she looked. Even in a loss to Liv Morgan, look how good she looked. But now it comes to a point where, all right, you look great, but now you got to win. So if you're going to step up to Becky Lynch, that has to be her attitude.
Like, it's the same thing with Jada. Hey, everybody's complimenting you. Everybody's telling you how good you are and all this talent that you have. But when you go in the ring, you lose. At some point, you have to win. So I think for Sol Ruka, that's what she has to be focused on the next time she steps between the ropes.
Yeah, and I think, I mean, the thing is, though, is that, like, you know, people have even said it to me. Like, you know, well, you lost that match. It's like, yeah, but, like, the match was phenomenal. Like, I don't always think about, like, wins and losses. I'm really big on, like, what's the story? What's the story? What's the story?
I think Soul, personally, when she was in NXT, I think she won so much that now I actually find her to be more interesting on the other end of two losses from Liv Morgan and from Io. Yeah. And by the way, those are two of our top female stars in WWE. So I feel like Soul is more interesting because she lost. And I'm like, now I wanna see this girl scratch and claw and fight.
I've been saying this since Soul got to the main roster. I really am excited to see that grittier side of her. I get that she can do phenomenal things. But I think that sometimes we do our best work when people knock us on our asses. And that's why I'm asking Jada. I didn't just go to NXT because I was called to go to NXT. I personally fought to go to NXT to fight Jada.
