This is the Busted Open Podcast. I like this road that Seth Rollins is on. I'm looking forward to his match with Roman. And I don't think I'm going out too far on a limb here. And if I am, it better be a strong limb to hold my ass. Seth needs to beat Roman at SummerSlam.
And you know, and I was going to ask you that question this hour because I think it's an important one. This might lead to one of the most important, if not the most important match for Seth Rollins based on the story that they're telling.
You've heard me say for 10 years, wins and losses don't matter. except when a win or a loss matters. And I think a win for Seth Rollins at SummerSlam really matters.
If Seth loses, is this going to be a case of him spiraling out of control or hitting rock bottom where he has to actually climb back out of it? Like, it would have to be this story of him just losing everything.
But you'd have to... If you want to tell a redemption story... of hitting rock bottom and spiraling, you have to show me a real spiral. You can't just show me Seth Rollins spiraling on WWE TV. You have to show me his entire life spiraling.
Yeah, they're not going to do that. They're not going to do that. They're not going to do that. They're not going to do that. All right, so if Seth Rollins... And listen, Seth Rollins, as he said, has a pretty damn good track record against Roman Reigns. But now they're really throwing it out there. It's the story right now.

Listen, I am not a big believer in on double parking a championship on somebody for a length of time unless there's a really good freaking reason. I understand why it was double parked on Roman for as long as it was. I have no problem with championships changing hands. It keeps things exciting. That's always been my take.
Why do Dave and Bully think Seth Rollins needs a win at SummerSlam?
Like... Okay, we want this person to be champion. Why was Ric Flair always a champion? Because he put asses in seats. At the end of the day, why do you make somebody a world heavyweight champion? Because they draw. The one thing that they need to draw, they draw. A nice fat ass in a nice tight seat. That's why we leave a championship on somebody for as long as we do. If the one person is not drawing like that and the company is drawing and we can afford to tell certain stories, I have no problem with Seth winning. I have no problem with Oba defeating Seth one day or whatever the case may be. Is Seth Rollins the type of champion you're going to pay money to see every single week retain? No. You can say the answer.
The answer is no. But I know that Seth, it feels to me like Seth needs to beat Roman. Now, Roman did say, I'm going to be around until the end of the summer, right?
Yeah. It seemed like he was going to go away in the fall, which this timeline fits in perfectly of him losing this championship and going away.
