What's going on, guys? World's Strongest Man, Mark Henry here. And we will be examining Sami Zayn's first week as WWE Champion. And we'll react to that right now. This is the Busted Open Podcast. We had a hell of a match, not without there being a little controversy. I always like a little controversy with my wrestling. Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, we've seen a dozen matches or more between these two guys and they never disappoint. And of course there were a lot of bells and whistles and in and out and confusions, but nonetheless, hell of a match. The controversy, if we can start with that, was Kevin Owens looked like he was a little, a little blanked. I think Punk really laid some serious leather to his face and he looked a little out of it.
I thought that the kick out was, it was very faint. And I'm sure that there will be some conversation about that. But nonetheless, Sammy, was able to prevail. And the thing that I look at as being one of the important things in this match is Johnny Gargano came out, ran interference, and then CM Punk came out, grabbed the title, hit Kevin Owens, of course, and Sami Zayn made the crawl, and as he made the crawl, it looked like Sami was a little out of it. So it was par for the course, if you will, to see these guys struggle to get this done. Finally, Kevin Owens feeds up in a corner, and Sami closes it out, hits him with the hallouba kick, and then you got the one, two, three. Man, what a show. I thought that the show was full of action from beginning to end.
There were good backstages. The way the show started was good with me. We had one of the most thought-provoking promos from Cody Rhodes in this show. But to stay with Sami Zayn. Sami Zayn was under the pressure. I don't even want to call it pressure. He was under the strain of not losing his title faster than his last time getting the world title and Nick Aldis, who was also involved in this whole foray, basically told these guys, listen, y'all don't come out here and run this show. You don't make matches, I make the matches. And I don't think that Sami Zayn really thought it out today. I think Sami Zayn came to the show today thinking that he would raise his hand and talk to the fans. But that's not what happened.
Sami Zayn got to the arena and he got confronted because you got to pay the piper. If you make promises, you have got to keep your promises. Of course, Sami Zayn had amnesia, I guess, from, he had amnesia from the promises he made to Johnny Gargano. We got the sound.
We had a deal. If we come out there and help you with Punk and you become WWE champion, I'm first in line for a title shot and I'm out here to collect.

Christi. And I thought the crowd was like kind of on the fence. They were like, yeah, I don't know. And I feel like that right at that moment, I've kind of felt my sixth sense, if you will, my spider tingle went off and I just felt like something else was going to happen. And there you get Kevin Owens. And Kevin Owens, he basically ran it all down. He's like, no. He's like, you ain't do nothing. He said, I'm the one that actually got screwed on this whole thing. And you can't have a conversation about making matches without the boss coming out going, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait a minute. No, no, y'all got this messed up. I mean, we have Sammy gaslighting Johnny Gargano, but we'll get to that later on. But guys, Nick Aldis made it abundantly clear that he is in charge.
And we saw this before. You know, when he came back after SummerSlam, he reestablished his dominance as the general manager when he was put back in charge after having his match with Gunther at SummerSlam.
