Welcome to the Busted Open Podcast. This is Dave LaGreca. On today's episode, myself and Bully Ray talk about everything that happened at Saturday night's main event and Fanatics Fest in New York City. Gunther and Nick Aldis. It's official for SummerSlam. We'll dive in. Cody and Punk. The saga continues. We discuss right here on the Busted Open Podcast. This is the Busted Open Podcast. CM Punk and Cody Rhodes. We found out on SmackDown on Friday, Bully, that there's implications for this tag match. Sami Zayn and Gunther going up against CM Punk and Cody Rhodes. And if Gunther and Sami Zayn were to win, they would be added to the match. at SummerSlam. So going into Saturday night's main event, Bully, did you think there was any chance of this becoming a fatal four-way at SummerSlam?
Bully Ray 1:41
That came up at the last minute. So in talking about this match with you and with Mark last Friday... My idea was coming out of this match with animosity between Punk and Cody. And I thought the animosity could lead to Sami getting a win over Champion Punk because of a misdirection with Cody that led to the animosity. The babyfaces went over. Yes. We still got animosity coming out of it. As long as there was animosity coming out of it, that's all that mattered. Now, we got two things coming out of that match. We got the animosity with Cody and Punk that happened after the match in the Garden that we saw on social media and then happened yesterday at Fanatics Fest. But they were also able to get another piece of business done in the garden, which has me as excited.
Bully Ray 2:58
Go ahead.
Dave LaGreca 2:59
Stay with Thunder.

What happened at Saturday night’s main event that set up today’s discussion?

Dave LaGreca 3:00
Go ahead. Can I play the audio of what I think you're about to say from Saturday night's main event? Yes, you can. God, this is going to be so bad if I play this audio and it's not what you're thinking. It better be.
Bully Ray 3:17
Does this piece of audio involve an English dude? It does. Okay, play it then. All right, go ahead and play it, Paul. Cheerio, mate.
Unknown 3:27
Wait a minute. What? Nick Aldis. Nick Aldis. Just dragged the official off the pin. Aldis just screwed Gunther. And now the title on the face of Gunther. You can't do that. Punk.
Punk.
Unknown 3:48
With a GTS. That's a GM. Dragging Cody Rhodes into the cover here. And now. What is Nick doing? Aldis just threw the official Robinson back into the ring. Park and Cody. They showed only one on one at SummerSlam.

How did the SmackDown stipulation potentially change the SummerSlam tag match?

Bully Ray 4:06
Amazing. Amazing. And that's the piece of business that I'm as excited about, Nick Aldis and Gunther. By the way, did you see the way the camera shot Nick Aldis after he pulled out the referee and then he turned around towards the announce desk? Did you see the size of Nick Aldis' shoulders and his chest?
Dave LaGreca 4:33
Dude, he looked like he was about to rip out of that shirt.
Bully Ray 4:36
Nick Aldis is saying his prayers and taking his vitamins and training very, very hard. He might even be taking a multivitamin. That's how jacked he looked.
Dave LaGreca 4:53
He looked jacked. He's going to impress a lot of people because, again, Bully, there is a lot of WWE fans that don't know about the history of Nick Aldis in the ring. And they're about to find out at SummerSlam how damn good he is and how great he looks, by the way, when he's not wearing a button-down shirt and a suit.
Bully Ray 5:13
Nick Aldis has like... Listen, we've seen him... obviously as nwa champion we've seen him as tna champion some of the great best shape of his life nick aldis like a disciple of arnold schwarzenegger and his training and nick knows what he's doing in the gym with his body and yes nick has been underneath a suit for a long time now probably has not needed to train for being in front of the other than looking good in that suit
