For you last night while watching Monday Night Raw, what was the good?
It would be very easy for me to start off with the end of Monday Night Raw, the go-home promo between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns because I thought that was good. And I thought it was good for some interesting reasons that tie into our show from yesterday and having Seth Rollins on. but I'm going to start off with this part of the good. I'm going to start off with a women's name that we don't talk about a lot here on busted open. So congratulations to Raquel Rodriguez, defeating soul Ruka and becoming your new WWE women's champion or whichever one of the two champions.

Um, Yeah, it was a great moment. Seriously. And Michael Cole did a great job of playing it up as well. Hey, this is her first major title win since she's been with the WWE. And judging, and no pun intended, being that she's part of the Judgment Day, but judging from the commentary and judging from the reaction from the crowd... it seemed that everybody was celebrating along with Raquel Rodriguez. And I know it may be a small thing, but in my world it's not because the name of our show is busted open. Seeing her with the bloody face holding up that championship title, I hope there's a picture of that for her that she can frame because that was what you call a moment in professional wrestling.

Yes, the fans were very much into her winning the Intercontinental Championship. Raquel Rodriguez has been right on that cusp of a push or a championship and a couple of months ago they were hitting the gas and then they came off a little bit and now last night they pulled the trigger. I think last night was a very 50-50 decision from the WWE. I think that they said, all right, let's give Raquel a shot. Let's run with her. We've had plans for her. We know we want to give her an opportunity. Let's do it tonight. Let's do it in Los Angeles. It's a big Monday Night Raw right before we head into SummerSlam. It'll be a nice little bump for her. But I also think the WWE might be pulling back on Soul Ruka.
Yeah, I think what you just said is 50-50. I think, yeah, they want to give Raquel Rodriguez a shot at doing something major like she did last night because it's been a long journey for her. And like you said, we've talked about it so many times here on the show, Bully, like Is she there? And honestly, it's built up for us. I think fans have gotten more and more into Raquel Rodriguez because it always feels like she's right there and then something happened that pulls her back down. I'm glad to see that the WWE went ahead. But I do agree there's the other side of the coin where maybe things have cooled off a little bit for Sol Ruka. Maybe a case of too much too soon for Sol Ruka on the main roster?
I'm not going to say too much too soon. I'm going to say lack of emotional investment. Sol Ruka definitely has the look. She has an amazing finish. And when it comes to athleticism and acrobatics in a wrestling match, it's there. Those are her strengths. But her weakness is her ability to resonate with the crowd and an audience. And this goes all the way back to NXT. This goes back to some of my critiques of her while in NXT. I've had her on Busted Open After Dark. I've sat six inches away from her. I feel the vibe. I feel the passion. I just don't think it's at the level that it needs to be for her to resonate with a crowd. If a crowd is reacting to your dive or your moonsault to the floor or your finish, that means they're just reacting to a move.
It's no big freaking deal. You want people to react to you. You want people to react to your passion.
