What did you think of what you saw about that 30 to 45 second scuffle between the two of them?
I loved it. Same thing when I talked about AEW, that segment, the interview. Felt it was real. Gunther being pissed and blaming Nick Aldis on the loss and all this stuff. This is Gunther's third attempt at a world title shot and didn't win it. feels there's something about him, and he feels that this, with Nick, puts his hand on him. Once Nick said, don't you put your hands on me, and pushed him back, it was great. Nice little pull apart, dropping of the F-bombs, giving them bleeped, I thought was wonderful, and felt very, very real, and I, because of personally and professionally, would love to see Nick Aldis back, even if it is for one match, and that one match against Gunther, I think would be great.
I was talking, me and Dave were talking about how Roman and Seth in one 15-minute segment got us so excited for the match between Roman and Seth. It was excellent execution by both men on the microphone, Roman's facials reacting to Seth's truths. I'm like, look at what they were able to do in just 15 minutes. And then here came Gunther, and this happened before that segment, but Gunther and Nick got me invested in 45 seconds. Yeah. In 45 seconds. And just because Gunther said, you're a failure. You're a failure as a wrestler. Now, I went, me and Dave spoke about this a lot at the beginning of the week. We are both fans of Nick Aldis. I spoke extremely highly of Nick. for the majority of his career, especially what Nick did for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, what he did for the company, and how credible he made it.
You know, we talk about wrestling right place at the right time. Well, you can be at the wrong place at the wrong time. And for Nick Aldis, when he became TNA World Heavyweight Champion, that was wrong place at the wrong time.
How did the AEW Dynamite episode impact the wrestling narrative?
AJ Styles left. TNA fans were pissed. No matter who was the next champion, it was never going to sit well with TNA fans. And Nick was just in a bad spot. I don't think Nick has ever truly lived up to, not by his doing, but being in the wrong place at the wrong time, the potential that he had. Because Nick has it all. Nick's got the look. He's got the body. Nick can wrestle. Nick can talk. In the very first all-in, Cody versus Nick, that was the match. And without Nick, that match don't happen. But Tommy, I never felt Nick got to the spot that he should have been in wrestling. Yes? No?

So when you tell, you can drop an F-bomb and everybody's like, oh my God, they dropped an F-bomb. I don't care about the F-bomb. What I care about is you're a failure. Wow. Those lines, that line cuts deep because it forces somebody to look at their career and it forces fans to go, hey, wait a minute, what did this guy do? gunther calling nick a failure makes me want to see nick beat the shit out of gunther it really does and if there's an opportunity i mean i hope they did not put their toe in the water just to let this go past by the wayside to me that would be foolish
That has happened with Adam Pearce, where you thought it was gonna be Adam Pearce actually coming and having a match. And that kind of went the wayside. This could be fire for the WWE. Like, this is a great third-tier top storyline for the company.
