Well it's day two of the UN General Assembly. Let's get the latest from News Talks political correspondent Sean Defoe, who's in New York for us. So, Sean, as Donald Trump was talking about unleashing hell on Iran, the Iranian delegation left the room. Is that right?
The Iranians left, the Cubans left. Now I think the Iranians kept one of their delegation in the room. The Cubans left in their entirety. So there was a a number of different walkouts. Uh uh and sort of mixed reactions 'cause you had that at one end was happening during Trump's uh speech. At the other end you had the camera panning down during the the thirty eight minute length of it to see some delegations yawning, some delegations he was mentioning, including Mexico just sitting very stonely faced, trying not to get any sort of reaction. And having spoken actually to some of the Irish who have been in that room at various times for during difficult speeches, they say it's almost a study in facial expressions, because what most delegations do is just try not to give anything away, even if you think what Donald Trump is saying is absolutely uh ridiculous, is dangerous or whatever.
So uh a kind of a an element of behind the scenes.

Yeah, look it it's interest so depending kind of on on who you believe, it's either Donald Trump falling very short on his goal of owning Greenland, which is what he set out to to want to do, to either buy the territory or to take it over to secure uh that bit of the the Atlantic corridor, if you like, for the US. But in effect it does mean if you're arguing the other side that they have control. of Greenland because they will be able to significantly expand their military presence there. We haven't had numbers put on it, but likely beyond anything that Denmark would ever be able to put there in reality. So you do have this de facto control yet without the US officially owning the island. And it is sort of does sort of become an extension of that power that the US has over the Arctic, over the Atlantic
And Trump was really trying to sell it yesterday as him protecting part of the world, not only America, but Europe as well, from potential threats down the line. So a lot of this, and you can include Iran uh in it and the talks that happened yesterday and the way that he he he put it up there, because it wasn't necessarily anything new. We've heard him threaten to obliterate Iran in the past, and and had he done that even at last year's uh UN General Assembly. It might have drawn a lot more shock and awe than even it did yesterday, but because we've heard it a few times, it wasn't really that shocking. And what people are trying to figure out, including members of the Irish delegation I'm speaking to, is this, you know, Trump really asserting his power and saying, I am the man who can do whatever I like, and I got around back to the the table at four talks as a result of this with Steve Wit Steve Whitcoff yesterday, or is it the sign of his power that
