Taxanes are a type of drug that blocks cell growth by stopping mitosis (cell division). These are the medicines extracted from plants and first introduced in India by Dabur Pharma in the 90s. Taxanes interfere with microtubules (cellular structures that help move chromosomes during mitosis). They are used to treat cancer.
