Chasing The Insights

EP627 - Diane Danvers Simmons on the process of writing such a personal, vulnerable memoir

26 Oct 2024

Description

In this episode of Chasing the Insights, I talk to writer and world traveler Diane Danvers Simmons. Diane talks to us about the process of writing such a personal, vulnerable memoir. Diane Danvers Simmons is a woman with many titles: mother, world traveler, a writer, an artist, key note speaker, podcast creator & host, reiki master, female empowerment activist and advocate. As a reformed accomplished international marketing and advertising executive (Saatchi & Saatchi and Omni Com Group), in London, New York and California, she leads a mission-driven life, aiming to share unique stories that shine a new light, inspire humanity in each of us, understanding and unity in our fractured mad, mad world. A British native and American transplant, Diane brings unique vision, wit, humor, heart and candor to her storytelling whether through her written memoir, My Mother Next Door, which explores a mothers role and her own unorthodox motherly abandonment (albeit next door) , her intergenerational podcast Mother's and Daughters Unfiltered with her own millennial daughter, published articles, keynote speeches and in -person workshops which explore the complexities of the mother- daughter dynamic.. And, finally but not least, she sits on the leadership council for the Women's fund, Board Director of the Carmel Public Library Foundation and hosts "The Hatton Neighborhood project", part of the Nantucket project.
