Joe Shalaby 1:22
Thank you, Joe.
Wendy Davis 1:23
Excited to be here with you.
Joe Shalaby 1:24
Likewise, likewise. And how was the drive from here to L.A., from L.A.
Cesar Martinez 1:28
to here? Hey, not bad. Actually, it's Saturday, so you know how it is in traffic here around here in Orange County. It's not too bad, actually.
Joe Shalaby 1:34
Carpo helped us a lot. I appreciate people coming down all the time, and I know people hate coming to Orange County from L.A., but, you know, we're going to make it worthwhile for you guys today.
Unknown 1:42
Well, thank you.
Joe Shalaby 1:43
I like to start the show off with the same way I start every show, and what is your morning routine? You can take the question first.
Wendy Davis 1:49
Absolutely. Well, I think that your morning routine really sets your day. So I wake up every day. I say my affirmations, a prayer. I have a favorite podcast that I listen to in the morning. And I write down what I'm thankful for. Literally have a journal for gratitude every single morning. And I say a couple of words out loud and really jolt it into my body. And off I go.
Joe Shalaby 2:16
I'm sure that's been a big reason for your success.
Wendy Davis 2:18
Oh, 100%. Yes. Recently, I used to work out early in the morning alongside getting up. Oh, and the one thing that I do that I absolutely believe has changed my physique has been that I drink a glass of water with lemon in it and a little bit of Himalayan salt.
Joe Shalaby 2:38
Oh, you do that, huh?
Wendy Davis 2:39
Yes, it actually works.
Joe Shalaby 2:41
Really? Yes. What do you think has changed your physique as a result of doing that?
Wendy Davis 2:46
Well, you know what? It really, I think, stimulates, lowers my sugar, and I think with inflammation, and it's just helped me out a lot.
Joe Shalaby 2:54
So you say you listen to a podcast. I'm hoping that that podcast is Coffees with Joe Shalaby, right?
Wendy Davis 2:58
Well, moving forward, it's definitely going to be Coffees with you. I listen to No Days Off with Brian Grubenek. Have you heard of him?
Joe Shalaby 3:07
No.
Wendy Davis 3:07
Yeah, he comes from like the real estate world. I've known him since he was like, I don't know, in his young 20s, way back in the day. He launched his podcast about over a year ago, and it's pretty awesome. It talks about personal and business and really sets the tone for the day.
Joe Shalaby 3:25
All right, Cesar, what's your morning routine?
Cesar Martinez 3:26
All right, living with a person like Wendy, right? You learn routines because I came out with, look, I had discipline in certain areas, but a daily ritual in the morning about preparing myself? Not really. I just got up, and I'm a person that gets up at 4 in the morning, No matter if I have to work or not, it just happens. But what I learned to be successful where it's changed around was be intentional throughout the day and starts in the morning. Basic routine, I get up at 4. My dog's there waking up with me, walking out the door. And I start my coffee, sit down, prepare, and I start with basically the prayer of the morning. Just guide me through the day and do the right things. Very simple, right?
Joe Shalaby 4:09
Very simplistic. What do you do to maintain that physique, though?
Cesar Martinez 4:11
The physique? Well, that started a long time ago. I mean, but the ritual is this in the morning. I prepare something very simple, some just boiled eggs nowadays. It's just three eggs I eat and just a piece of toast.
