12. Mister Domestic on His Crafting Career

25 Jun 2021

Description

Crafting careers come in all shapes and sizes, and no two paths look quite the same. That is especially true for Mister Domestic, a man who has taken the quilting world by storm with his crafting career. Matthew of Mister Domestic always felt a call to crafting and sewing. His life led him on a different path, but he found himself feeling unfulfilled. A loss in his life made him reevaluate the path he was on, and he set out to find who he really wanted to be. He started making clothes and posting his creations online, which led him on a journey of finding his craft and his community. Over the years Mister Domestic's crafting career has taken on different faces, and in light of the Black Lives Matter movement he decided to stand up for his values, a move that he worried might hurt his crafting career, but instead helped him build a community of like-minded people and create a safe space to come together.  In this episode Elizabeth and Matthew discuss different elements of crafting careers, including: Creating a community Finding purpose  Exploring all revenue streams Valuing your worth Focusing your audience Social media success
