S3E4: What To Do When Life Comes at You Fast

19 Jul 2019

Description

This was week was a rough one for Dom and Terri. Terri found out that her grandmother passed away and had to abruptly leave San Francisco to head home to Philadelphia. It was still very important for them to produce an episode but they ran into quite a few challenges.   Despite the technological struggle, they had a quick conversation about stress, anxiety, and setting boundaries when life comes at you fast. Stay tuned because they'll have more in-depth conversation about these topics in the future.     Quotes of the day: "It's not stress that kills us, it's our reaction to it." -Hans Selye   "In times of stress the best thing we can do for each other is to listen with our ears and our hearts and to be assured that our questions are just as important as our answers." -Mr. Rogers     Hans Selye's General Adaptation Syndrome: Step 1: Alarm Step 2: Resistance Step 3: Exhaustion   Resources: Melanin and Mental Health Therapy for Black Girls  Psychology Today General Adaptation Syndrome    Where to find us: Twitter: @HERspacepodcast Instagram: @herspacepodcast Facebook: @herspacepodcast Website: herspacepodcast.com Email: [email protected] H.E.R Space Sanctuary: https://www.facebook.com/groups/herspacesanctuary/  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/cultivating-h-e-r-space-uplifting-conversations-for-the-black-woman--5470036/support.
