Chapter 1: What news breaks about Michael Voss?
7.30 in the morning, Michael Voss has decided to resign, effective immediately. You quit on us? Why should I quit on you? What, you play a good half and there's some line you're in or what? I'm out. Deal with it. Why should I quit on you? Oh, we can't even get a second right. The coach is now walking away from us. That's how bad we're going. Oh, well, it's a new era.
Welcome, you rats to the Big Red Shed on this 13th of May, this beautiful Wednesday, wherever you are and however you are listening to us around the world. Thanks for tuning in and doing footy with us. And I mean that. I mean that from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you for rocking with us and doing footy with us and letting us have the greatest job in the world, which is just talk absolute dribble about football. It's the best. We're glad that you're on this journey with us to hopefully one day you get to see your team win a flag. But in between that, there's a lot of shit that goes down. Yeah, we love our community so much and we love flags. Yeah.
Well, I haven't seen one in a long time, but hopefully that'll come very soon. We know there's a new era in Carlton. We know that your guys, your team is up and about. Most teams are up and about unless you're a Richmond fan or a Reston fan. But we're all playing the long game, which is great. So thank you for doing it with us.
Chapter 2: Why is this a significant week for the Carlton Blues?
A little bit of stuff that's happened. LeBron just lost. Just got swept. Yeah. Is it the last time we ever see LeBron? Nah, he'll be back. Hope so. He'll come back. Old as hell. Just hanging on. Mate, if Pendles is carrying on this much for his record-breaking game, LeBron's going to do it way harder. He's going to do a farewell tour. Kobe did a whole year. He said he was never going to do one.
But now we think, if he's getting any wind of how much money Pendles is making... In a bigger market overseas, you bet your ass he's making gold play at everything. Actual gold crowns for a king. Well, I mean, Pendle's had a basketball background as well, so they could definitely link up. Pendle's will go over there and do a farewell tour as well to his basketball fans.
Do you reckon Pendle's going to play for the Lakers? So sad, but maybe it's his last game. Who knows? Bye-bye, Boomer.
on the merch there maybe it'll be his last game I'm not sure a lot of people say maybe he gets traded to go somewhere else for a season but I don't know they'll make some changes there I have done this thing we spoke about sort of a little while ago about how I just weirdly didn't watch any childhood films I'm slowly going back to my youth and trying to have a childhood good I watched the first Harry Potter did you really?
thanks guys this is huge what'd you think? a couple notes I've got that I wrote down here we go So Harry was just a kid living under the staircase. Yep. And then just the big Hagrid guy storms in and picks him out from under the staircase and tells him he's a wizard. And then he's just a LeBron James of wizards. Is that right? Yeah, that's exactly correct. Okay. Good scouting from Hagrid.
Really good. Hagrid himself feels like a PR nightmare because he's a rat. He leaks information like you wouldn't believe, doesn't he? Is that true?
That's true. Yeah, he does. You're right.
He just cannot keep a secret to save his life. A couple of things I have here was I learned a lot about the actual school, the moving staircases. Pretty cool. It was okay. A lot of ghosts. Fluffy was cool. I feel like Harry and his... I'm going to assume, what are they, 10 years old? I said Fluffy was cool. Fluffy's scary as shit. No, Fluffy's cool.

Chapter 3: What are the latest updates on player injuries?
Fluffy's cool. Harry and his friends are like 10 years old. Yeah, they're all young. It's like grade one of wizardry. So out of all the masters and wizards there, why is Harry... and his group of 10-year-olds who were going through puberty sent to go and figure out all the stuff that's going on, all the shit. Well, they're not sent.
They take it upon themselves to go do it because they're so courageous because they represent the Gryffindor house, which is one of the key values. Okay. And Harry Potter was the chosen one because of his parents. Okay. My next note is detention in murder forest. So that feels like a weird detention. Oh, you're late to class. Go fight a fucking werewolf. That seems a little bit silly, doesn't it?
That's weird attention. I don't think there's much schooling actually in Harry Potter.
Number one, figure that out.
And see Eddie.
There's a couple of classes. Quidditch was a cool game. I like Quidditch. Yep. Big on that. And then my last one was, how did they not know that that guy had a second head in the back of his head? Yeah, he wrapped it up pretty well, didn't he? Yep. Yeah. I'd heard that for a long time. Just to... Gotta wrap that head up sometimes. Just to see how well you concentrated.
Where would you buy a Pepsi Max if you were in Harry Potter world? Nah, you probably got a Hagrid. You'd have one in the fridge, wouldn't you?
Nah, there's a store where the chocolate frogs... Yeah, where is it? What alley? What's the alley? Oh, Diagon Alley, mate. There you go.
Diagon Alley. Well done. That's a leap. Well done. Thanks, guys. Yeah, I'm great. So I'll get through if any other films you have there you want me to watch and kind of give you a brief overview of what I think happened. Yeah, number two. You've got to finish them all. Nah, I've never got time for the other ones. Nah, you've got to go to the trilogy.

Chapter 4: How are the upcoming games previewed?
So that going forward, he won't be the coach and Brisbane will be his last game. Then they did well to keep that under wraps and not tell anyone. Paddy Cripps was the first one to find out the morning after.
of yesterday I'm pretty sure and then the players found out after that pretty weird that I love when journos go the players will find out this afternoon like they haven't just already figured it out like they don't have Twitter yeah well my thinking was sometimes you should play because it happened early happened at 7am some players will just get in their car and just pop music
And so if you're one of those players where you just get in the car, you pump music and you haven't really clued into the news, you would have rocked up to Icon Park going, okay, a lot of news here. What's happened? And then connect the dots. Yeah, okay, interesting. It's crazy. So no one really knew.
Then, obviously, everyone knew you'd have to be living on a rock to not figure out what would happen there. So it's interesting. It's still very interesting. I know we'll move on pretty quickly because that's what we do, and Cullum fans will be keen to get to the weekend and get that good sugar hit that's coming. You just know that's coming with Josh Fraser.
But Graham Wright, I mean, you keep looking at all the things that went wrong. Graham Wright. in isolation, did choose nine games with Michael Voss over five more seasons with Charlie Curnow. This call, and you tried to tell me in the last pod, I didn't hear you right. It should have been done in the off season. We got nine more games out of him. We lost Charlie Curnow.
Who knows if things were different, but to only get nine games into a season and then tell him he's not the coach, in hindsight, you go, oh. It's a complete waste of a year. Dummies. All the way through. And some of the problems are still going to be there. It might feel different at will because there's no Michael Voss and there's Josh Fraser coaching and that'll give some life to the team.
But the problems are still there. The board has to figure it out. This just proves that the board and the people who are way more senior than us or anyone else still need to figure out what they're doing with this team. So we'll see. We'll see. I, again, I for one, I'm looking forward to the sugar hit. Dogs fans are terrified.
It's going to be probably like one of the most highlighted games this week. Yeah. It's a standalone Saturday night. Yeah. Oh, really? Yep. So everyone's tuning into it. I can't wait. It's going to be great. It's going to be great. Let's talk about Scott Penelope. Scott Pennebury. Scott Pennebury on his game-breaking... It's been a tour the last month for sure.
But anytime you rest two of the four games, that's a tour. And has put this thing together where he has just cherry-picked West Coast and said, this is the one, this is what I'm doing. And now it's just become a, how much money can I actually make out of this thing tour? It's remarkable. So we knew that this Guernsey was coming. Now that's extremely gold, Ash.

Chapter 5: What are the challenges of playing in humid conditions?
It's humid. Slippery. It's going to be so hot there for them. It'd be so hard on a night game up in Darwin. It's so uncomfortable. If you haven't experienced it, I don't think they've spent a lot of time in there. I'll just go in there and say that, not even knowing, but I can assume they haven't spent a lot of time in Darwin, Port Adelaide, as a club.
They've been there probably 10, 15 years ago against us.
There you are. They've never played the Suns there. The Suns don't lose there. The Suns are loving it. They're fishing. They're just soaking it in. They're doing everything but football. Football's a small portion of why they're up there. It's just a holiday. But in saying that, they have said that they don't really like going there anymore.
And it could be the last trip that they do the double header, double round up there. Really? Yeah, they'd like the $4 million or whatever it is that they get. But Dimmer or someone on the board said, well, actually we shoot ourselves in the foot in the back end of the season because we play these games in hot conditions on shorter turnarounds for two weeks. Then we travel back home.
And then that's what we've struggled in back ends of season because we're just knackered for the next three rounds. Yeah. Yeah, was it Bob East that came out and said that? Potentially someone. Yeah. Yeah, so they're finding that, yeah, the money's good, but also we had been up after it. Yeah, that makes sense. I mean, they dropped off last year. Tough watching the conditions here.
I kind of like it because I feel like this is a game style where the Suns thrive and I really like watching the Suns win. They're just like one of those teams that just sweat over the turnovers and just go straight for goals. And a team like Port Adelaide, if they don't know how to play these conditions, Suns are just going to chew them up and spit them out.

Chapter 6: How does the new coaching change impact Carlton's performance?
But I did like what I saw with Josh Carr. He's very honest.
in his press conferences very too honest yeah and he um he said like they play like shit in the first half try to be too cute and he wants them to really attack so i'm excited to see what they do this week if they come out early and just really try guns blazing for it yeah he's got a kind of screw it game plan i think i don't think there's much pressure on him so he can kind of just do what he wants with the team and make them play any brand of football and no one's really going to be like okay well he's not the guy i think he's already proven nine rounds you know 10 rounds and he's the guy
I'm really excited to see Butters and Horn-Francis versus Suns-Fluffy with track Rowland-Anderson. That would be their second game. Is Row back? Yeah, yeah. Row's back? Apparently he's back this week, yeah. Wow. Yeah. So that could be their second game that they play together. Against Ned Moyle. Yeah. Witsy can't get a game. Yeah, what's the go there? Is he still not in?
Don't think he's in, the big boy. I think he's out now. I think they've gone for Ned Moyle. Some new blood on the rock. Saw him fishing the other day with Mac Andrew. That's all they're doing up there. They love fishing. Love fishing. Portia got up there and fished earlier as well. Port need to get those soapy buckets out and put their balls in them. At training, in terms of training. Yeah.
Just make sure. That's the only thing I think that could, if they're really good at it and they just train for a lot of hours with soapy balls, they're a chance. Give me the Suns in this one. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out that, hey, the Suns are really good at Darwin. Suns win. Port also lose Bergman and Lye in this game as well.

Chapter 7: What can we expect from the upcoming matches this weekend?
Oh, they're no chance. Suns by 100. Bergman and Lye are both so important there for the back line. Suns by 100. Hey, Jed Walter's a free agent in the market maybe they're looking at. Some team's bringing in. Jed Walter massively on the out up there. So he played at the club that I played at, Palm Beach. And I played at Cryer as well, just shout out to them.
A few of my friends that played there know him well. And apparently he really wants to play for like a big market team. Like Collingwood or I think he grew up in Perth as well, so maybe even West Coast. Wow. Yeah. Get ready to learn North. Pekka told me that, so you can take me to the bank, guys. Okay, so he wants out. Well, if he's not going to the game, he may as well. Maybe Collingwood. Yeah.
Well, I mean, everyone's looking for a keeper with this off season, apparently. Okay. We all thinking Suns? I'll go Suns, yeah. Cool. Let's go to Super Saturday. 1.15 p.m. And you know what it is? Jesus, you are my best friend. And you will always be.
Chapter 8: What are the predictions for the game between Eagles and Giants?
And nothing will ever change that. Jesus, you are my best friend. Yeah, come on.
You will always be. Nothing will ever change that. Hallelujah, Jesus.
Adelaide. North. City of churches. Adelaide. Three golf favorites here. North would have to feel like they're a massive chance to spite them going into Adelaide. And potentially they can pull one out here. So last five, they lost to Brisbane. Giants, Cats, Swans, and then beat up on Richmond. And just going through this valley of really tough games, almost on the other side of it.
But if they could pinch one here... We're probably looking at a wild card. We now know that Clarko is the guy. He's the guy. If he can get him to a wild card this season, North fans are saying, let's get a wild card and then next year, let's just be minor premiers. Let's win a flag. That's the direction they're going. Clarko is very much on the game plan for this group.
They have some issues down back, but the shin boner, staying stiff. They're up and about. Lots of blood in the shin boner. I like the midfield, the forward line. I disgustingly don't rate their back line at all, but there are enough pieces there to give Crows a fright here. I think they've got some good pieces in their back line. Like, Luke Parker's dominating. Charlie Coleman's dominating.
Griffin Logue. They need... Caleb Daniel to pull his finger out and use the ball a bit better. But they've moved Kobe McKercher out of that back line up forward and he's having way more school involvements. I really like North this year. I like their midfield a lot. I like how Caleb Daniel has the same haircut as his helmet. Have you seen that as well?
I don't know if he does it with the barber, like he puts the helmet on in the barber shop and cuts perfectly for his helmet, but when he takes his helmet off, still got the helmet on. I reckon it's awesome. Just so he always feels safe. They're the scariest, almost very good team in the league right now.
They pushed into the edge, they had more scoring shots, and they're still lost because a young team just always finds these most creative ways to lose games. That's just what young teams do. That's what they are. So they could. They have some weapons. I mean, their non-weapons part of the ground is where Adelaide have weapons, in their forward line.
Rankin, Rochelle, Phil Thorpe, Archie comes in, Fogarty probably comes in. So that's the one where it'll be one loss there, I think. That's an issue for North. I reckon it could be one loss in that midfield. Yeah, yeah. Like, their midfield hasn't been that elite this year, but they're starting to move some pieces around there.
