Episode 23: Anouk van Dijk – Out of the Blue

Anouk van Dijk is a Dutch choreographer, director and the creator of Countertechnique. In this episode, she talks about the underlying themes in the work ‘Out of the blue’. The performance is a carnival of colour that celebrates the power of the imagination and the resilience to adapt.She explains some of the rationale behind her movement system Countertechnique and emphasises the power of distraction, the inherent creativity of technique, and she discusses the kind of tasks and tools she uses to feel in the moment.
