Nicholas Thayer playfully describes his practise as ‘musicing’. He is a London born and Netherlands based composer, producer and interdisciplinary artist. In spring 2023 Nicholas was part of an impressive array of artists that collaborated together to create the work 'in:finite', choreographed by Wubkje Kuindersma. 'in:finite' is an immersive performance fusing choreography, music, and visual art in an unconventional performance setting. The work navigates the line between everything is ok an everything is not ok. In this episode Nicholas and host Samuel Denton talk about co-creating experiences with audiences, experiencing music through other senses, the value of decentering yourself and humans not necessarily being the most important thing. And lastly, the vastness of time, opening spaces for slowness and contemplation. -----Host: Samuel Denton, dancer Skånes Dansteater.Guest: Nicholas Thayer, composer.Editors: Samuel Denton, Tiemen Stemerding, dancers Skånes Dansteater.DancePod Team: Kit Brown, Samuel Denton, Tiemen Stemerding, dancers Skånes Dansteater.
