Thanks for coming, Walter. Thanks for having me. I first heard about you through Catherine Austin Fitz, I believe. And she was talking about this secret breakaway civilization. And you wrote about this Nimza group, which was like the original or like this is you write about the origins of this speculative breakaway civilization.
You know, it emerged in a funny way for me. I had been aware of the 1890s airship mystery for years.

most of us have if you're into UFOs at all or any weird stuff. I had heard about this mysterious Sonora Aero Club. from a friend of mine, Greg Bishop. You probably have heard of him. He's written an excellent book years ago called Project Beta about the Paul Benowitz affair.
Oh, yeah. I wasn't familiar with that book, but I'm aware of the Paul Benowitz affair.
Oh, yes. Yeah. I highly recommend it. That's the book to read on that issue. And when I was researching my Empire of the Wheel book, doing research for that, a gentleman's name popped up. He was arrested on the train during the middle of all this mystery. Now, this was... In 1915, several mysterious deaths were occurring in San Bernardino, and it looked like there may have been a serial killer or some sociopath on the loose. And this young 24-year-old man by the name of Frank Rosasco is arrested on the train. And he's committed to the county hospital. He's arrested first and then committed because he's diagnosed as being dangerously paranoid. So here you have this potential murder mystery. You have this young man arrested on the train because he's having a nervous breakdown.
He's losing his mind and he's saying, you know, that, oh, I didn't hurt her. I didn't hurt her. And there had been a woman found dead, which is the center of the mystery. Well, a couple of days after he was arrested, the papers report that he was released into the custody of these unidentified friends from Sonora. And I thought, okay, let's check his name and see if they came from Sonora, Mexico. Nothing there. Then I quickly discovered that the name was Italian, not Spanish. And long story short, I discovered that he's from a very prominent Italian ranching family in Sonora, California, the home of the Sonora Aero Club, which is at the heart of the Airship Mysteries. And I thought, how is the Airship Mystery
connected to this 1915. 1915? 1915. And so I made a note of that and I dug into the Sonora Aero Club lore, so to speak, because no one's quite sure. We only have one source on the Sonora Aero Club, and that's a gentleman by the name of Charles Delshow. He was a German immigrant who, by his own story, was sent here to the States to go to California and report on this group of other German immigrants who had settled in California, who were dabbling with flying machines. The problem is this was in the 1850s, the decade before the US Civil War, flying machines. This was Delshow's story. And he claimed that he was sent on behalf of an organization based in, I think it was, I'm pretty sure it was Brandenburg, Germany, called Nymza, N-Y-M-Z-A, spelled with all capital letters, like an acronym.
