Days of Future Podcast: Examining the X-Men

130 - Gambit: The Movie (sort of)

10 Aug 2020

Description

With Channing Tatum's oft-delayed GAMBIT movie a fading memory of our past, in this episode we turn to a recent X-Men fan film - GAMBIT: PLAY FOR KEEPS - in order to get our live-action fix of the ragin' Cajun. Along with Gambit, the short film features a few other comic book favorites like Rogue, Magik, and...uhhh...Eric Roberts? Anyway, we discuss whether or not the film accurately captures the spirit of the characters, and what impressed us most this apparent labor of love. Plus, Trev covers some of the highlights (or low-lights) of the recent HOLLYWOOD REPORTER article detailing Bryan Singer's horrible behavior on the first two X-Men movies, and Joe discusses his recent trip to the "Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes" exhibit at Dearborn, Michigan's Henry Ford Museum.
