Welcome back to the Juice and Mo podcast. I'm in Sacramento. Morgan is in Connecticut, getting ready for a WNBA game on Amazon. But it is day two of free agency. I spent four plus hours on a stream, and the biggest news I got was Ousmane Jang re-signing with the Milwaukee Bucks. But here we are today on day two, and shit is going down. It started this morning. The Lakers making a flurry of moves. Moves look like they're into Jalen Durin, but end up with Walker Kessler making some other moves. But the news that just went down today, a big trade. Jalen Brown has been moved to the Sixers. We got to talk about that. The Kings made a couple of moves. Did he not want to be there anymore? Were they on both sides like, hey, we just can't do this? We're gonna shop you. I mean, this guy was in talks about Giannis, and maybe the Celtics didn't want to give up too much. There's even talks about, you know, the wolves talking to Boston. Boston about Jalen Brown. And ultimately, out of nowhere, the 76ers come in and trade for Jalen Brown. It's Jalen Brown to the Sixers. Paul George, two first round picks in 28 and 31, and two second round picks to Boston to complete the deal. Jalen Brown, still in the prime of his career, spent 10 seasons in Boston, what went to five conference championships.
They won that title. He is now a member of the 76ers. And I guess my first instant reaction is like, This is this is it for Boston. Like, this is the move. This is all Jalen Brown could get right now is Paul George at 36 years old with like two years left on his deal. And a player that, yeah, went healthy. I I like him. And when he was out there at times last year. He looked fantastic, but the last couple of years, it's like 41 games, 37 games. That's the move you make. And now you you're just left wondering, okay, what is Boston trying to do at this stage? Paul George is the ad. They add Mike Conley today and then they add Mitchell Robinson. I'm like, okay, so a couple of old guys and a center that Can only play like twenty five minutes a night and can't play back to backs.
Yeah. I just I anyway, I'm just not from a Boston perspective, I don't like it. Your thoughts.
It's it's okay. Yeah. It's okay to your feelings are validated. Um I I feel the same way, especially initially. As I keep processing things, you know it's I start to look at and speculate like, okay, they must have been starting to get desperate. Like they maybe, maybe Jalen Brown was starting to put a little bit of pressure on them. Again, speculating here as I search for answers. Because I'm also like, okay, well, maybe they thought that they couldn't get the same caliber player once the Giannis deal was done and everything else. So So they wanted to see whatever team could attach the most picks and maybe a player that can still play at a high level. But here's the thing with Paul George and no disrespect.
I love Paul George and his game. You just it's he's not reliable. It you don't know what he's gonna see at this age when it comes to being healthy and staying on the floor.
