i'm good this morning how about you guys as we tape it this morning yeah i should say it's right yes we're good but it's like it's like do the same you know it's we we get into this throughout the season when we can but it feels like you are addicted to it and you're around it 24 7 and so that's why we're coming to you for with a lot more questions
i guess right on first things first um it's been a couple of weeks have you recovered from the nba draft lottery are you feeling okay right now yeah that was a bummer huh you know as kings fans we were really hopeful um you know for for me uh i kind of feel like there there is a drop off after the top four in this draft um you know that's one of my questions yeah so Yeah. And I mean, I'm not, I like this draft. I mean, I really do. I think there's, I think there's good quality and I think Kings are going to get a good player at seven, but you know, I think the, the potential for superstars starts to wane a little bit after, after the fourth pick.
That's what I was going to follow up with because I was like, okay, well, what does that drop off mean? So basically it just means you see franchise altering guys in that top four to good players in the top 10 though.
Yeah, I mean, I think there still could be some all-stars. You know, I mean, there always is, right? You know, there's going to be somebody who sneaks through the cracks, like usual. But I think Darius Acuff has that all-star potential in him. You know, if someone can really...
get him to commit on the defensive end. You know, and I don't know how much you guys want to get into the weeds about that kind of stuff. Yes, I want to be deep in the weeds. Obviously, with the Kings at seven, there is going to be plenty of guards in that area. You know, looking at your rankings at the moment, you've got Darius Acuff ranked fourth. Fifth. So ahead of all the other guards in that range, you got Flemings at six, Brown at seven, you got Wagler at nine, and Phylon at 12, Burry's at 13. But let's start with Acuff. Why five for him? What separates him maybe from the rest of the guys in that grouping?
So again, I want to be clear that, that I really do like a cuff. And I think, you know, if it were a different draft that didn't have, you know, those four guys ahead of them, and we're talking about the Bonsa, uh, Peterson, Caleb Wilson, and Cameron Boozer in, in some kind of order. Um, I think those are the top four. Then, then I would say Darius is next and I love him offensively. Um, obviously he can score and he, he sets up players as well. So, um, Um, I think the, the combine testing was interesting to me because when, when I watched him, I thought, okay, he gets by people. Um, you know, he gets a step and I thought maybe, oh, it's just a quick step with those strong shoulders and he's able to, you know, low center of gravity and make a move and get by people. Um,
And then if you get too close to him, he's going to bury the jump shot on you. So those are the things I really like about him. But the combine kind of showed that he's a little more athletic maybe than I was giving him credit for. He tied for the fastest time in the three-quarter court sprint. So I think all those things are good. Defensively, though, it's not just that the defensive rating is bad. There were times when I watched Acuff where I would just get angry. I would just be like, come on, man. I hate that.
