We can relate. For sure. I mean, they definitely have more prestige and like, you know.
And they and and like there's like free agents that actually want to go to their big market but with different things.
You think about over the years, like and this is a time to reflect since nine I mean we're talking about since nineteen ninety nine. They haven't been to the NBA finals. Long time. And Throughout that course, they've had like star level talent, but they also had like free agent pursuits where they swung and missed. Like they thought they were gonna get LeBron at one point, Kevin Durant, swing and miss, but What you realize is the star they needed was a guy that was drafted in the second round by the Dallas Mavericks, who signed there as a free agent in 2022, Jalen Brunson. Wow. And at the time, let's not get it twisted, there was nobody on the planet. Maybe Jalen Brunson thought it. Uh-huh. Nobody on the planet thought Jalen Brunson was going to be the guy that would be the face of the franchise and help lead this team to the NBA finals.
What are Kings fans feeling about Mike Brown leading the Knicks to the Finals?
This undersized guard, second round pick. What has he done? I mean, he was in Dallas, showed some signs, especially when Luca's out, but this is gonna be the guy.

deep with him. Are you kidding me? And to see how he's blossomed into one of the league's best talents, one just an absolute gamer. Yeah. The toughness, the clutchness, the shot making, the leadership, and then surrounding him with the appropriate talent to cover up for some of the weaknesses he may have as a player. Trading for OG, trading for Cat, trading for Bridge. Vintage and here we are with the New York Knicks headed to the NBA Finals. Let's start with Brunson. What what has impressed you about how he's developed over the last few years with the Knicks?
Well, I I I think especially over the last few years, w we've been talking about this narrative that I still believe um That the league and rosters are kind of shying away from undersized guards because once you become a liability on the defensive end, you're like, shit, we gotta be deeper, we get gotta be longer, we have to be faster. Like you have to evolve with the game. But I think what Jalen Brunson's been able to do with his size is so much more at an elite level, but on top of that. The Knicks have been able to put a roster around him that might disguise or cover up some of the flaws on the defense editing.
Which by the way, that's what you're supposed to do when you're building a team because there's not a lot of perfect players out there.
