Jason Shurka: You’re Living Longer… But You’re Not Healthier | DSH #1778
22 Jan 2026
Chapter 1: What is the difference between lifespan and life expectancy?
Lifespan has not increased.
Chapter 2: What is the Light System and how does it work?
There are actually more people who live till 100.
Chapter 3: What research supports the benefits of the Light System?
They call them centurions, I believe.
Chapter 4: How do Eastern and Western medicine differ in their approaches?
There are more people who live till 100, 100 years ago than there are today.
Chapter 5: What role does placebo play in healing, especially with animals?
That's a fact. The difference is there are less people that are dying when they're 30 and they're now living till they're 65, 70, 75, 80, and so on and so forth. It's not because they're healthier, it's because we have drugs to do that. Quality of life isn't increasing, it's decreasing.
Chapter 6: How can the Light System aid in mental health issues like PTSD?
But just because more people are living longer doesn't mean that suddenly everybody's living till 100, 120 and they're great.
Chapter 7: What home systems can help improve personal wellness?
There's a difference between lifespan and life expectancy. We need to understand that difference.
All right, guys.
Chapter 8: How can people reclaim their health and longevity?
Here we're with Jason Schurka again. Good to see you, bro. It's good to see you again, man. Thank you. Been almost two years. Yeah. Crazy. You were one of my favorite episodes.
Thank you. We actually dove pretty deep into that one.
Dude, we went off. You brought the big pyramid. Now we got the smaller one. 100%. Bro, you pulled up with that. Big one that day. Dude, I guess people probably need a refresher on what this actually does.
Sure. Yeah. So what you're looking at over here is called the light system technology. I think it's a very fitting name because it is a system of lights. But to simplify it, think like red light therapy. That's something that's being adopted all over the world now. Red light therapy, but beyond that.
So it's full spectrum light therapy that's really using light as a modality to help the body heal itself. So it used to be called woo-woo. Now there's a lot of research backing it up, including this technology. And a lot of people are starting to adopt it all around the world now.
Yeah. What type of research has been done on this so far?
So there's been something called it's there's a method called electro impedance spectroscopy, which basically checks the impedance of electricity. So the resistance of electricity through the cells in your body, the less impedance, the more flow, the more flow, the better.
What this technology, the light system, has been found to do, which is pretty insane, when you look at it and don't really understand what you're looking at, the science has shown that in just one hour of exposure, so you're getting a lot more than that right now.
Can it reach me from all the way there?
